"And I hate to say I love you. When it's so hard for me. And I hate to say I want you. When you make it so clear. You don't want me"

3rd Person's POV

"You owe your aunt an apology. Big time! Be a man, get in there an apologize."

Peter sighs as they enter the house. He walks over to May who is cleaning the kitchen table.

"I'm sorry, Aunt May. I..."

Aunt May waves her hands disregarding him with a smile, "Honestly, you don't have to apologize to me."

This makes Ben upset.

"The hell he doesn't!"

Aunt May shakes her head, "Ben."

The front door opens making everyone freeze and look over. Mila walks in with a huge beaming smile but frowns as she notices the thick harsh air between everyone.

"Is this a bad time?"

Aunt May shakes her head waving Mila over while looking between Ben and Peter cautiously, "No everything is fine... right boys."

Peter sighs, "Look, I'm sorry, Uncle Ben. I uh... I got distracted, I was OsCorp..."

Mila frowns slightly but says nothing. She knew her sister had been working at Oscorp this made her wonder how much time they would be spending together. How many late nights would he be there and not home anymore.

Ben scoffs, "Oh, you got distracted."

Peter nods, "Yeah."

"You're Aunt, my wife, had to walk twelve blocks, alone in the middle of night and then wait in a deserted subway station, because you got distracted."

"Ben, sweetheart, honestly, I am completely capable of walking home by myself..."

Ben turns to May and glares slightly, "You will not defend this boy!"

May frowns, "I'm not defending him!"

"You are defending him!" Ben turns back to Peter who shows nothing but a blank face, "Listen to me, son."

"Yeah, go ahead."

"You're a lot like your father. You really are, Peter, and that's a good thing. But your father lived by a philosophy, a principle really. He believed that... that if you could do good things for other people, you had a moral obligation to do those things. That's what at stake here. Not a choice, responsibility."

Mila can't help but feel bad for Peter. She knew exactly how it felt to not have her dad in her life. Although the only difference is that she never ever knew her dad. Now her mom was another story. Her mom has chosen responsibility over family too. She definitely felt Peter's pain. She knew how much Peter's parents leaving him with his aunt and uncle took a toll on him.
