I sprinted down the street the best I could with a booted leg with the only light I had being the occasionally street light. I had left everything except my phone leaving the cold air to eat away at my arms.
I finally spotted a tall figure with his hands in his pockets and his head lowered, but the bed head was unmistakable.
"Tetsurou!" I yelped causing him to turn in my direction with surprise written all over his expression.
"Brother! Emic.. a. Not my-" I panted trying to explain before he hated me forever.
Kuroo put his hand on my shoulder but then quickly took it away and shoving it back in his pocket, "Just calm down. Why did you chase me all the way out here? Don't you know you're supposed to be letting that ankle heal?" His voice was rough and showed no sign of gentleness even though his words were caring.
I put my hands on my knees and stood up straight when I had caught my breath finally, "Can we- can we go somewhere?" I asked halfheartedly.
He nodded calmly and we walked towards the park a little ways down the road. I sat down at a wide swing so he could sit beside me. He swung the swing for us while I put my hurt leg up in a half fetal position.
"Look Y/n, you don't owe me anything. I just expect you to wait till marriage." He laughed, "I'll make sure to buy you a chastity ring next time I'm out you snake." He sarcastic smirk seemed to light the mood up, but I shook my head hard.
"That was my best friend's brother. Emica, she asked me to stay with her tonight! I didn't even think to look at my phone. Emica was crazily pulling me around and I-" I paused. Something didn't add up by the look of disbelief on Kuroo's face.
"What-what did Jun tell you?" I asked quietly.
"He told me not to go around you because you were claimed. I told him he's full of shit, but he seemed adamant that you were there with him for those purposes." His smirk came back and he laid back in what looked like comfort, "You don't have to lie to me, Y/n. Like I said, you owe me nothing at all."
I pulled at his arm that was resting behind his head, "No! Tet-Kuroo please believe me. I am seriously not dating Jun!"
"Then why are you calling him by his first name?" He met the volume of my loud voice sitting straight up to look at me.
"We all grew up with each other, but Emica is my best friend!" I pleaded not letting him make me back down.
"That is bullshit Y/n! I was fine with it all. You didn't have to run after me and you most certainly didn't have to lie to me." His voice quieted with every word thrown at me.
He stood up but I grabbed his arm. I forced myself to stand up with a hiss from the pain that came from my leg. He looked back at me with no remorse.
"Kuroo, you have to listen to me. I ate lunch with some of the team and I am sure they can vouch that Emica made plans with me! I can even take you back to the house!" My voice did not waver and neither did his, "Y/n, why do you keep egging this on?" He shouted.
He snatched his arm away from me, "Do you like seeing me suffer like this? Leading me on and inviting me to your house to cast me aside from some college boy?" His shouting grew more intense with the second, but I was never one to shy away from this.
