Draco Malfoy sighed as he finally returned home after a long day at the Ministry, all he wanted to do was to spend time with his family, he slipped off his coat and smiled as he smelt food cooking from the kitchen

he made his way to the kitchen and stood in the door way as he watched his wife feed their one year old son and try to keep an eye on the food at the same time

y/n suddenly looked up feeling a pair of eyes staring at her
"hey, i didn't hear you come in" she said with a smile

"i'm not surprised there's so much going on in here" he chuckled

y/n smiled sheepishly at her husband
"yeah i know you said to not worry about dinner until you got home but i was hungry so"

he shook his head at his wife with a smile and kissed her on the head before taking the bowl off her "i'll feed him"

you smiled at your husband and went back to your food and looked back over at him "how was work?"

"same as usual boring and busy, how was your day?" he asked feeding his son who was squealing

"okay a bit boring to be honest, Scorpius napped for most of the day and then just played quietly with his toys" you reply getting two plates out the cupboard as Draco went over to the sink and put Scorpius's bowl in there

"least it wasn't too hectic then" he grins at you

Later on in the evening while you was getting Scorpius ready for bed, Draco washed up everything so that you don't end up doing it later on after he finished he quietly went up stairs and stood in the doorway of his son's room smiling as he watched you read a book to him

he honestly didn't know how he got so lucky. not only did he have the only woman he's ever truly loved since Hogwarts as his wife but he now has the perfect son with the woman he loves most. even though Scorpius inherited Draco's hair and eyes he inherited y/n's beautiful features and most her expressions which Draco loved.

Draco never knew he would ever feel like kind of happiness and comfort especially before the war and he was so grateful that he had been given the chance to be better and to raise his son how he wished he was brought up, in a light, happy and loving household.

he snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed you had stopped talking and was now looking at their sleeping son before you then looked at him
"do you want to put him to bed?" you ask quietly

Draco nodded and gently took Scorpius out her arms and gently put him down in the cot. you came over and put the blanket over him and Draco smiles at you when you look at him.

you both quietly leave his room and head over to the main bedroom and you flopped onto bed and Draco sits next to you
"so you complain about not doing anything all day yet you're the one who's tired??" he laughs

you look at him with a glare
"excuse me mister i took care of our son all day be thankful"

he grabbed both your hands and pulled you up
"i'm forever thankful don't you worry about that"

you take his hand into yours and he looks at you and smiles

"you are so beautiful" he says gazing you you lovingly

you smile and look down "Draco you don't need to shower me with compliments you already married me"

"so because you're my wife i have to stop loving you? i don't think so" he replies

you pulled a face
"you're so gross" you say with a small smile

"since when were compliments gross?" he asked

"they've always been gross" you grin "but i'll allow it because i love you"

"now who's being gross" he smirked

you roll your eyes and smirk back "is this your way of saying you don't love me any more?"

"absolutely not. i love you more than life" he replies

you smile at him "you shouldn't love anything more than life Draco"

"you are my life, both you and Scorpius so yes i can" he replies simply pulling you closer to him

you sigh happily knowing that he was genuinely happy. you were always worried that the war and Voldemort had destroyed that part of him but now you were starting to see that he was truly happy again.

"i'm glad you're happy, you deserve it" you tell him

"all thanks to you" he smiled smoothing your cheek

"we helped each other" you corrected him

he smiled and placed a soft kiss on your lips

Draco woke up at 3am to find his wife missing from their shared bed. he slowly got out of bed and left the bedroom to see you quietly closing the door to your sons room

you turn around and saw him leaning on the doorframe and you smile softly

"Dray go back to bed you're tired" you say wrapping your arms around his torso and he smiles at you putting his hands on your shoulders

"you should have woke me up, you don't need to always do the night feeds" he tells you

"you have work tomorrow i don't want you to be tired" you reply

he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear and kisses you lovingly on the lips

"now go back to bed and i'll sort this out" he says taking the bottle out of your hands

"okay" you say softly and he pecks you on the lips before disappearing downstairs

about five minutes later Draco goes back upstairs and checks on Scorpius to see him sleeping soundly then went back to his own bed where you were also peacefully sleeping, your hair sprawled out on the pillow

Draco smiles to himself he had never really felt like he belonged anywhere unless it was with you. you were his home and now you both had Scorpius and for once in his life he knew what his future had in store for him and he knew that he would never feel alone ever again because he knew he had you and your son for the rest of his life.
