Draco sighed frustrated with the news he had just been told. he was told he had to marry Astoria Greengrass. now in any other life he would have been fine with it, she was pretty and kind and their parents were great friends, however she didn't have his heart and he knew she never will.

you had his heart.

but you were also being told to marry another man you didn't love and had recently got engaged. all because you're families didn't get on so both your parents forbid the relationship. well Draco's mother was more sympathetic towards the whole situation but his father didn't care.

all Lucius cared about was getting the Malfoy name back after it was tarnished during the war. and if that meant he had to force his only son to marry a woman he didn't love then that was what he was going to do.

a small knock on Draco's bedroom door snapped him out of his thoughts

"come in" he said sitting down on his desk chair as his mother walked in

"are you ok sweetheart?" she asked

"no but i have to be don't i?" he scoffs

"it's not as bad as it could have been" she replies

"mother i have to marry a woman who i don't love" he snaps

"you never know that might change if you got to know her" she says ignoring her sons frustration

"i doubt it" he mumbles

she sighs and sits on my bed
"i know i'm sorry but y/n is also getting married i just don't want you to be alone"

"it doesn't matter who you shove me with i'll still feel alone without her" he says and storms out of his room

over at your house you were crying in your pillow as your engagement had made it to the papers which made you realise that Draco most likely knows and it broke your heart.

you had always imagined getting engaged and married and how happy you would be but now it's the one thing that's causing you so much pain.

you heard your father call up to you to tell you your fiancé Mike was here causing you to cry more.

after a few minutes you pulled yourself together and wiped all the mascara off your face not caring that your eyes were red and puffy before making your way downstairs where you were greeted with your smiling father and Mike

"hey y/n" Mike smiles going to kiss you but pauses when he notices your eyes "are you ok?"

you force and smile and nodd "yeah it's just hayfever" you lie and peck him on the lips

"y/n, great news! we've decided the wedding will be held next week!" your father says excitedly

your heart stops "w-what?"

"we figured it should be sooner rather than later" Mike says

"but we literally got engaged two days ago?" you say

"no time like the present!" your father says "now Mike come with me and we'll discuss details, y/n go tell your mother"

you couldn't do this anymore everything was happening so fast. you didn't want this wedding. all you wanted was to be with Draco.

you run upstairs and burst into your parents room making your mother look at you quickly

"y/n? what is it?" she asks
