"So now can we finally see what the Grimm World looks like?" Nora demanded, her arms folded across her chest.
"Yes, you can," Abe nodded. "Though I don't see why you're so eager to see what is basically your world's version of Hell."
"What can I say?" Yang shrugged. "We're a curious bunch." The lights began to dim, as the audience settled in.
The episode began with Jaune stepping out of a pillar of hazy red light, finding himself in the center of a dark cave. However, the pink ground beneath his feet squished and sunk with every step, and the gray walls were bloated and twitched, with eerie red liquid running out of several tears spaced throughout them.
"Wait! Is that cave... alive?!" Weiss gasped in realization, her pale face beginning to turn a sickly shade of green.
"It would appear so," Ozpin confirmed, a disgusted grimace on his face.
"Is the entirety of the Grimm World like that?" Ruby wondered, retching at the very idea.
Jaune made his way forwards, his face contorted into a frown, as every footfall resulted in a sickening squelch, viscous blood splashing from the soft pink flesh beneath his feet. At the top of the cave was a hole, and a faint light echoed from within. Grimacing, he began to climb up the side of the cave, watching as puss and blood leaked out of the "rocks" every step of the way. Finally, the Huntsman emerged through the hole, remaining on his hands and knees for a couple seconds to catch his breath, and settle his stomach. Finally regaining his composure, Jaune stood back up.
"GAH!" Standing right in front of the Huntsman was Mundus!
"Oh no!" Pyrrha yelped, covering her mouth.
"He was waiting for Jaune this entire time?!" Ren asked, his face betraying his surprise.
Ebony and Ivory quickly found themselves in Jaune's hands, as he aimed the twin pistols at the King of Grimm. However, Mundus just continued to stand there, a smirk on his face, and his arms spread, as if to welcome the Huntsman. After a few seconds, Ebony and Ivory returned to their holsters.
"Just another statue," Jaune realized. He put a hand on his face. "Well, that scare probably took a few years off my life."
"You're not the only one," Ms. Goodwitch murmured, as she removed her hand from her heart.
Making his way behind the statue, Jaune discovered bone-like protrusions in the shape of a doorway on the far wall. A thin veil of flesh writhed between the bones, and when the he cut the tissue with the Harbinger, it folded upwards. Stepping through the makeshift door, the Huntsman made his way into the next room.
"Whoa," Jaune grunted, as he took in this new environment. Glowing runes covered the entirety of the ceiling, with large pillars of rock connecting the floor to the roof. As he took another step forwards, suddenly, he heard a cry.
"Jaune!" With a start, the Huntsman turned his attention the far wall. Collapsed in front of it, holding herself up with one arm, was Trish. "Jaune! Help me!"
"Trish!" Jaune cried, charging forward to her aid.
"Wait! Don't do it!" Coco suddenly blurted. "It could be a trap!"
"We know that, but I don't think Jaune knows that," Velvet frowned, her ears drooping.
Jaune rushed forwards, but just as he came within six feet of her, the ground began to shake, before a large barrier rose out of the ground, making a large circular arena, trapping the Huntsman. A familiar bubbling noise reached his ears. Turning around, Jaune watched as the familiar amorphous form of the Horror rose up from out of the ground. It shifted into its solidified armored form, its skull face shrieking at the Huntsman.
"Trish! Stay back!" Jaune commanded, throwing an arm out behind him. Then, with his other, he drew the Harbinger, preparing to do battle with the sentient amalgamation once more.
"This is it," Sun realized. "This will be the final fight."
The Horror immediately opened up the hatches in its armor, releasing several bullet-sized shards of ice at Jaune, who ran throughout the perimeter of the barrier to avoid the attacks. The amalgamation then stabbed at the Huntsman with its spear-like protrusion, but instead of exposing its core afterwards, the monstrosity simply reverted back into its liquid form. Three large warts appeared on the Horror's body, and then burst open, revealing more Creeps, which growled and charged him. Jaune into a slash with the Harbinger in its scythe-form, slicing two of the Grimm apart as they leapt up to attack. The third he sent flying backwards as a kick, causing it to burst into several large ice spikes as it smashed into the barrier. The Huntsman then approached the Horror, stepping onto its amorphous body. Instead of attempting to engulf him, however, the amalgamation just stayed flat to the ground.
"Hey, how come it's not trying to swallow him again?" Emerald asked, confused.
"Yeah, wouldn't that be a free hit on him?" Mercury nodded.
"Not if it knows that he can set himself alight with a Ifrit," Cinder reminded her two underlings.
"I guess you're not falling for that trick again, are you?" Jaune sighed, looking down at the Horror. In response, another large wart rose out of its amorphous body, quickly becoming the same size as the Huntsman, then a little taller. When the bloated mass melted away, standing in its place was a copy of the Myrmidon, completely with a large icy sword. "Well, at least it wasn't the T. Rex," Jaune shrugged.
"Could that monster actually duplicate the T. Rex?" Kali wondered aloud.
"Possibly," Ghira shrugged. "It can replicate other creatures, after all."
Jaune and the Horror-Myrmidon immediately clashed swords, struggling against each other's strength. Finally, the duplicate Grimm Knight ripped its sword out of the deadlock, and shoved the Huntsman backwards, before lunging forwards into a powerful stab. Jaune managed to roll away, though his Aura still flashed briefly as the large blade grazed his arm. Standing up tall, the Huntsman whipped out his shotgun, firing at the Horror-Myrmidon's face. The duplicate raised its sword to block the buckshot, then brought back one of its hands, charging up a ranged attack.
"Ha! You simulate my previous opponents too well!" Jaune cackled. He charged forwards, diving into another roll to avoid a beam of light hurled at him by the Horror-Myrmidon. He quickly sprang up into an attack with the Harbinger, severing the duplicate's arm. The Horror-Myrmidon attempted to slice at him with its large sword again, but the Huntsman parried the attack, then spun into another slice, beheading the duplicate.
"Way to go, kid!" Qrow whistled. "You make wielding my weapon look easy!"
"He's doing good so far!" Tai smirked. "Keep it up, boy!"
Jaune watched as the Horror-Myrmidon deteriorated, then burst into steam. With a shriek, the main body of the amorphous mass began to vibrate and writhe, before it suddenly shifted back up into its armored form, and unleashed another volley of ice bullets at the Huntsman. Using the Harbinger, Jaune blocked what he could, and dodged the rest. Then, he stopped and watched as the Horror opened its skull mouth, and unleashed another beam of pure cold at him. Dodging this, he watched as the already damaged core exposed itself from the top of the amalgamation's body. Jaune smiled as he pulled out his grenade launcher.
