"Tae, you big idiot!" Jungkook frowned, staring at his husband's condition

"Baby, you're overreacting. Its barely a scratch." Taehyung rolled his eyes, gently pulling Jungkook closer to him

"I'm not blind, you know...I specifically told you not to fight! Now we're both looking like we lost some WWE or something."

"Oh so you're more concerned about us looking like losers?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow, though it had a playful tone to it

He genuinely didn't know how they were being so nonchalant after getting beat up. Perhaps this was their coping mechanism?

"I meant, nothing's been solved. You got hurt too and that's hurting me more than my own injuries." Jungkook sighed, pushing the older away gently and heading for the first aid kit, pausing for a moment to stare at it

"What's so special about that kit?" Taehyung spoke when Jungkook seemed to get lost in thoughts

"Hmm? Nothing. Just gave me nostalgia, when I first used the kit for you." Jungkook smiled, recalling

"It was in the alleyway wasn't it? I was stalking you and got beat up instead. Damn I really deserved that." Taehyung chuckled

"There was a time I wanted to throw this kit right at your face for being ungrateful the next morning!" Jungkook scoffed

When Taehyung didn't reply, Jungkook immediately grew alarmed.

"Tae, shit, I was just joking! I harbour no such feelings now!! Gosh I really suck at reading the room...I shouldn't have said that now-"

"No, it isn't your fault. I've always felt guilty that you forgave me and accepted me so readily. Letting your frustrations out is the least you could do...I deserve worse than that."

Jungkook mentally cursed himself for bringing up their rocky past. After cleaning and bandaging the older up, he lay the latter down, joining him shortly.

"Tae, sweetheart. I really am not that petty...I was trying to make a lame joke but it clearly backfired...I love you, the past doesn't mean shit."

"But doesn't the past hold some importance? What would you do if your past and present overlapped?" Taehyung spoke sharply

Jungkook remained silent. He knew Taehyung was referring to something else and not what he had just specifically said. The odd tone caught him off-guard. And then...realosation dawned on him.

"Tae...he said something stupid didn't he?" Jungkook spoke after a while of silence

Taehyung still had his eyes closed. The younger watched him in silence, and decided to backtrack. What was he even thinking before bringing the question up?? Like great, just ask a person what happened just before he got badly bruised up.

"He always says stupid shit. I've learnt not to take them seriously." Taehyung mumbled just as Jungkook was about to tell him he didn't have to answer. It was obvious they were talking about none other than Kim Daehyung

Even though the younger wasn't convinced with the answer, he wasn't gonna prod him anymore. Right now he was just glad Taehyung was back home and in his arms.

Before the duo realised, they slipped into a comfortable and cozy haven, right in each other's arms.

It must've been over an hour since Taehyung had woken up. His entire body hurt and he couldn't sleep for long having so many unanswered questions. Obviously he wasn't gonna tell Jungkook anything right now, the younger had gone through a lot for today.

In fact, the truth was, how was he ever gonna tell him that the man they despised so much was the reason Jungkook was alive? Truthfully, Taehyung was kinda scared too. Call him selfish, but he feared Jungkook would grow indifferent towards him or even...leave him if he found out about his dad.
