Jeno and I didn't talk to each other after we learned about each other's backgrounds. After years and years of being best buds, we had to stop. We had to act like we didn't know each other.
But again, money makes people do things; so I forced myself to be ok with it.
I walked through the school halls again, but this time, I wasn't walking with Jeno for once. All the other students were staring at me like I was a zombie that rose from the dead since I wasn't with Jeno.
When I walked into the classroom, I noticed that Jeno wasn't at school. I hadn't seen him all morning, and he wasn't even there for class.
'Weird', I thought.
I wanted to tell myself that it was all just a coincidence, but I had a gut feeling that his absence was because of me. I felt really bad. I really didn't plan on any of this to happening; all I wanted was to figure my life out and be able to live on my own; but knowing my luck, it all got screwed up.
I stared at my phone that sat on my desk.
Should I text Jeno?
It would be stupid if I did. We were technically enemies now.
I reached for my phone. Maybe I should text him, just to apologize so I could move on without feeling guilty.
You:
7:58 AM
Sorry about the confusion yesterday. Plz understand I had to do something...
I tapped on the "send" button, but it didn't send.
Oops! You can't send this message! "Jeno" has blocked you.
"What the hell?", I asked myself. I pressed the accept button, and tried to send the message one more time...But it didn't send. Jeno officially blocked me.
I tried to understand. I honestly should have done the same thing – it'd be really risky if we stayed attached to each other.
My classmates started flooding into the classroom just before the bell rang. Every desk seat was full except for the one next to me: Jeno's.
My teacher started attendance. All the kids raised their hands saying "here", except for when it came to Jeno.
"Jiwoo?", my teacher looked at me, "Do you know where Jeno is today?"
"I don't, sorry", I said quietly.
My classmates stared at me, and some whispered to each other. I always knew Jeno's plans. He and I did everything together. But they didn't know that this was Day 1 for Jeno and I being strangers.
"Jiwoo?", a school staff member poked their head into the classroom and looked at me.
"Yes?"
"You have a call", they said, "The person said it was important"
"O-Oh", I stood up and walked out of the room, and picked up the phone.
"Hello?", I answered the phone with the school staff member still standing next to me.
"Jiwoo", said a familiar voice on the other line, "Its Sehun...pack your stuff up, we need you"
Not only was this Day 1 of Jeno and I not being friends, it was also Day 1 of he and I being archenemies.
Ayyy! Ya girl's still struggling with figuring out how to put these scenarios into words, so the chapters are probably a little boring. Sorry, guys! I'm trying! I hope you all still like it :) Happy readin', friends 💕️
