"Got any chocolate?", Jaemin whispered to me as we sat in a crammed, old air vent.
"Yeah", I handed him a bar of chocolate I had in my backpack.
"Thanks", he said, taking it from me.
Today, I agreed to follow Jaemin on one of his missions, just so I could see what actually went on without being abandoned like I was with EXO.
We were supposed to take care of a drug-dealer that had been selling stolen drugs. The only reason he was able to get away with it until now was because he was skilled.
"Scared?", Jaemin looked at me.
His eye contact caught me a little off guard. "A little", I replied quietly.
He looked back at the the room below us, keeping an eye out for the drug-dealer.
"Well, our target's supposed to show up any minute now", he said, "No matter how ugly things get, you just need to stay by me"
"What do you mean by 'ugly'?", I teased.
"You know what I mean when I say we're 'getting rid of this guy'", he shot a look.
A door opened in the room below.
Jaemin put his finger over his lips to tell me to stay quiet.
We both tried to lean closer for a better look without making too much sound in the crowded air vent we sat in.
"Oh, crap", Jaemin mumbled.
"What?", I asked quietly, studying his face.
"There are two of them.", he answered with his eyes fixed on the two strangers.
"I can help", I suggested.
"Maybe", he took a second and looked at me, "If it gets bad enough, I might ask for help. Just remember that they're experienced"
I nodded and shifted my eyes back to the people below us.
You could see every little detail from our spot in the old air vent. Sure it was crowded and uncomfortable, but it was literally like getting a "bird's eye view"
The two men backed each other up: one walked towards a safe where stored the drugs were supposed to be, and the other one walked in the back with his hand on his gun, making sure they wouldn't run into any "company"...like us.
Jaemin got a grip on his gun as the two guys got closer.
"If I don't get both of them fast enough", he said slowly and carefully to me, "That's when you can help me out"
He lifted his gun.
He aimed.
Bang! Bang!
"Hey, you got them!", I smiled.
He didn't smile back. His face only got more focused than it already was.
"What?", I raised an eyebrow. The expression on his face got me a little scared.
"That wasn't me", he lowered his gun and slowly put his stuff in his backpack.
I packed my stuff up, too, even though I had no idea what was going on.
"What do you mean 'that wasn't you'?", I stared, following him out.
"I didn't shoot those shots", he explained as we quietly found our way out.
When we got out of the air vent, we hid behind a stack of crates. Jaemin looked around.
"Who was it, then?", I whispered to him.
"I don't kno-", he stopped.
I tried to see what he was staring at.
"Dammit", he kept his eyes fixed ahead of him, "Its Kai"
"Wha-", I tried to understand why that mattered.
"Jiwoo, run."
