Our Once Upon A Time

Chapter 9

It took a while to get to her mansion but damn when we got there I was not disappointed. I stood before a large mansion with a sunroom. We walked up to it and went in, not to mention how nice it must be to live nestled in the woods like this. It was spacious and overall it was absolutely gorgeous. 

I spotted some familiar faces while roaming around in one of the rooms. Celia came behind me as I peered at Dizzy and the Smee twins as they were very much asleep on the couch. Celia went behind the couch and pulled a blanket over the group. Dizzy began to twitch around which led me to believe she was having a nightmare. Celia talked to her a little which seemed to help lull Dizzy back to a peaceful sleep. 

I turned around and went to the sunroom where a random guy was just on the floor sleeping. I furrowed my brows as I talked rather loudly so Evie could hear it from wherever she is,

"So Evie, do you always keep guys asleep in your sunroom or...."

Evie, followed by Mal and Uma came up and looked at the mystery guy. She went up to him and crouched,

"Doug, Doug wake up"

She said as she nudged who I'm assuming is Doug,

"He's spelled, isn't she a fast learner?"

Uma said turning to Mal,

"She's emotionally involved,

"In that case, she should be able to wake him up"

Mal and I looked at her in confusion,

"True loves kiss? Works every time remember?"

"Oh ew, of course, that's what it's come to"

I said exhausted. Evie looked at us and back to the guy,

"Can we be alone?"

"Sure"

Mal said,

"With pleasure"

I said right after, of course, the stupid true loves kiss is going to be the answer to this. I just turned around and walked a little ways away with Uma and Mal following. Then I heard Evie singing of course. Mal and Uma went back and watched while I stayed on the couch for a good majority of her stint. 

I heard her finally getting it together which got me off the couch and back to the room to see if it worked. I walked to the doorway in time to see her kiss him. At first, nothing happened and I actually felt bad for her. She turned away from him, shattered. Then Doug slowly sat up. Doug laid back down as Evie turned back to him but not fast enough because she saw his antics and hit his knee causing him to laugh a little. He sat up and she sat next to him crossing her arms and looking away from him. He stopped laughing and scooted closer to her and nudged her, kinda like a puppy would to his owner which was, I won't lie, adorable. 

But that feeling came back for me. I felt that bitterness reenter my heart and I have no clue where it's coming from. I rolled my eyes and scoffed and stormed away back to the couch and took a deep breath. What on earth is happening to me?

Now that we knew that "true loves kiss" worked to break the spell everyone that had a significant other seemed to calm down. Mal Uma and I sat at the dining table and ate someone's birthday cake,

"Oh my god"

I said at the first bite,

"Y'all have been keeping this to yourselves the whole time?!"

I said as I took another bite,

"I don't know who's birthday it is but I want this cake!"

Uma said as she took her first bite. Her eyes widened and took another bite. We were both taking our time and savored the cake when Mal chimed up,

"It was a good idea to check the dorms Uma, you were right"

Uma slowly turned to Mal,

"Is there an insult in there that I missed?"

Mal shook her head,

"Also, I might've missed the boat calling you shrimpy and not letting you join the gang, and I also apologize for dumping shrimp on your head all those years ago. I'm realizing how messed up that is now that I say it out loud"

Mal said with obvious guilt in her voice. I smiled and widened my eyes a little,

"It's happening"

I said holding out the "g". Uma and Mal laughed a little. Uma was about to say something when we were quite rudely interrupted by a loud slamming sound. 

My head shot to the doors to see wood planks slamming into all the windows and doors. Uma and I stood up and backed up into the center of the room. Mal and Uma instinctively latched onto me for some reason,

"Celia get down here!"

I yelled,

"We're trapped!"

I heard her yell back. She ran into the room and Mal grabbed her. Evie and Doug rushed in as well,

"What's going on?!"

Evie said as she came in. No one answered her. Mal held her hands out and her eyes went green,

"You've caused my friend's pain and fear we've had enough now disappear!"

Nothing moved in the slightest,

"I'm sorry guys my powers aren't working right now!"

I stepped forward now. I looked up for a second and allowed my eyes and hair to glow,

"You've caused my friend's pain and fear we've had enough now disappear!"

I yelled now. Some planks fell but not many. I grabbed one of Uma's hands and grabbed one of Mal's hands and nodded to both of them. Uma took out her shell,

"You've caused our friend's pain and fear we've had enough now disappear!"

We all yelled. Now the planks shot off the doors and windows and onto the floor around it. We all broke into big smiles and threw our arms around each other in celebration,

"Haha! We did that!"

I said,

"Yeah, we did! That was awesome!"

Mal rejoiced,

"Who knew that would be that easy when we did it together huh?"

Uma said as she gave me a high five.

Evie came behind us, specifically talking to Mal and Uma,

"See? That's what I've been talking about this entire time"

We all laughed a little. Uma looked at her necklace and took something out of it. She held the ember in her hand and gave it to Mal,

"I think you can keep this now"

Mal put the ember safely in her jacket and nodded to me. I nodded back and patted her shoulder. We both smiled at each other for a second as Celia ran up to the door,

"Heyy it's your bae"

She said looking at Mal. Mal ran out the door and we all followed. I looked at the group in front of us and watched Mal run-up to Ben. They gave each other a hug, giggling all the way. I crossed my arms and scoffed as I rolled my eyes. This bitterness just won't go away, will it?

I looked over to Harry and immediately felt a weird jump in my chest like I was actually excited to see him. I took a double-take and saw that he was hurt. I uncrossed my arms and quickly walked up to him. I looked a bit closer to see it was a deep cut on his right upper arm that had been covered by a now blood-soaked handkerchief,

"What the hell happened here?"

A/N

Uh oh, looks like Hollys slightly more emotionally involved than she might like. It's alright, I'm sure she'll be fine, right? Nothing can go wrong with a short-tempered goddess that's now emotionally involved right? Of course not, that would be silly.
