HARRY POV

We've paced around so many times now. We were about halfway out of the forest after abandoning Mal and we still couldn't find Holly. I swear we've searched the entire forest twice now,

"We'll find her"

Uma said as she reassuringly put her hand on my shoulder,

"Will she be alright?"

I said, dreading the answer. Uma sighed and shook her head some,

"The longer the embers out the worse. Because it's literally been part of her for nearly her entire life she can't live for long without it lit"

I froze, while I knew the ember was important to her I didn't know it was literally keeping her alive,

"How long do ye think she has?"

"I wish I knew, she told me that the ember does so much in her body most of her actual systems don't need to do anything, Harry she could die in a number of different ways"

She said fighting back tears, I took a deep breath and paused,

"What if she's already gone?"

I said letting some tears fall from my eyes. This can't be happening, it just can't be. I never even knew about that stupid ember thing.

Uma explained it all to me, about how she's part ember and all and if the ember goes out technically it should take her down in time because it's a major source of energy and power for her, not to mention the ember keeps her warm and gives her stamina.  Because her body has been relying on the ember for eighteen plus years now it can't live without it, all because the ember that's actually part of her goes out too if the other half does.

The worst thing is Uma doesn't know if it's actually possible to relight it. I just wish she hadn't run away, I wish I would've held her down, I wish I had known.

FLASHBACK

Uma said she was gonna introduce me to her friend that she's had since she was four, I think I've heard of her before but I'm not sure,

"She's our age so you guys have a good chance of getting along, not to mention she is pretty badass"

Uma explained as we walked into an alley. A figure was leaning against the wall fiddling with her hair. She turned to look at us which allowed some light to shine on her face. She came off the wall and walked towards us. Her and Uma fist-bumped,

"Sup H, Holly this is Harry, Harry this is Holly"

Holly, that's a nice name

She had striking electric blue hair with equally striking gray eyes. Her skin was rather pale but when she held her hand out for a fist bump I, of course, did I realized she was hella hot temperature-wise,

"She's Hades's daughter"

Uma whispered to me. My eyes widened and I looked at her, wondering if she was joking or not. She smiled and nodded,

"Indeed I am, does that scare you? You look like you've just seen a ghost there"

She said with a smirk, as she stood there I could feel her almost like examining me which is a new feeling. Normally I was the one that did that, of course, I started doing it right back,

"Not so much scared, more surprised"

She raised a brow and nodded,

"Sure pretty boy"

"Damn someone's sassy eh?"

She put a hand on her hip and rolled her eyes,

"Damn someone's stupid enough to test me eh?"

She said mocking my accent. I've never had anyone talk to me like that. Normally people are rather scared of me but she doesn't seem to care who I am. I rolled my eyes in return. Uma looked at both of us,

"What's the problem here?"

"Dunno"

Holly said looking at her nails. Despite the fact that she was being rather rude to me and didn't seem to like me, I liked her. From her overall looks to her personality, there was something about her that draws me to her. I didn't want her to know though, I'll cover it up by acting as if I hate her, just for now.

END OF FLASHBACK

"She needs us to believe in her right now. I'm sure she's fine"

Something caught Uma's eye. She froze and nudged me which caused me to look where she was looking. I saw a hand laying on the ground, the rest of the body was hidden behind a tree. I choked up and turned away from the sight of the hand I knew too well. Uma ran over to her but I didn't move. I didn't want to move in the slightest,

"Harry! She's breathing!"

I heard Uma yell. I turned and ran hesitantly over to her. I turned the corner and saw her lying seemingly lifeless on the ground. I shuddered at the sight of her nearly completely motionless body, only the very slow rise and fall of her chest giving us any visible proof that she's still alive. Her once beautiful blue hair was now porcelain white,

"She still has a slow pulse too. I think she's just sleeping"

I put the back of my hand on her cheek,

"She's freezing"

"She's definitely not doing the best but she's not gone just yet. Audrey must have come by and spelled her..."

Uma said as she picked up a purple feather from the ground that had fallen from Audrey's cape during her shuffle with Holly,

"... Harry... this is going to sound mad cliche but you might be able to wake her up since she appears to be spelled"

I looked to Uma utterly confused,

"How long have you had feelings for her?"

I looked down somewhat embarrassed despite the fact that Uma's known about this for years,

"Since we met"

I muttered as I brushed her hair through my fingers. I looked down at her cold but peaceful body as Uma talked,

"Exactly! That doesn't just happen for no reason Harry, she's even been warming up to you more. Listen she's never been the easiest to get along with but recently you two have been nearly inseparable and I can see that. There's no one else out here except me, this is your only and last chance to find out if what you're feeling is true. Don't you want to take that?"

I brushed her cheek with my thumb as I cupped her cheek,

"I just want her ta be okay, she doesn't have ta love meh. I just want her ta be okay... I want to see her eyes again... I wanna make her smile again... I want her ta be warm again... Uma she can't go, not like this... not yet"

Tears fell uncontrollably from my eyes. Uma rubbed my back reassuringly and eventually gave me a hug, but I didn't move my hand away from Holly, I refused to, I was scared that she'd go if I didn't hold onto her,

"Make her be okay then. True loves kiss works every time. If you don't want her to go... I don't want her to go either... but you may be the only way she can stay long enough to even give us a chance to relight the ember"

She said quietly and her breathing getting shaky. I took a few deep breaths and stopped crying, determination filling my heart,

"Can ye turn around?"

She nodded and walked a ways away and turned away from us. She was laying on her side so I carefully put her more on her back. I took one last deep breath and put my hand on her cheek for support and leaned in and gently placed my lips on hers, here goes nothing.
