Heathen.

After checking everything out which was a lot considering Aries might have bought the whole isle of treats, we finally headed home.

"Heathen, when is your sister arriving?" I didn't reply only gestured. "Okay evening-ish, so no worry about lunch then." I won't ask how he knew, I simply drove toward the pack.

"What would you like for lunch and it's not a snack, you're having a meal, baked potatoes, and lamb chops." I nod without hesitation.

"Okay then, you're going to have to help." I already was, I loved cooking with the feisty little thing. So we drove to my home with him rambling on about books and pirates on the Caribbean or is it of the Caribbean.

"Okay so I need to make your lunch quick, so I can make dinner in time, come on, help me carry these bags inside." Somehow having Aries here made me feel happy.

He brought life to the house and I liked it, though he left at some point and left me gloomy, being around him just made everything better and I could smile.

"Defrost the chops, I will start with the potatoes." I was an alpha and so was my wolf, yet being ordered by the wolf in front of us, made him do it without questions.

>Bud, you like Aries ordering you around, huh<

I guess my wolf has a thing for the feisty little wolf and doesn't mind being ordered around. I began to wonder where this was going, was he considering dating, or being with me, wouldn't he have a mate.

I needed to know before this got any more serious, maybe I could ask him on a date or something similar or just ask him, rip the bandaid.

I lifted the rest of the stuff into the house and began placing it on the shelves. "Please put those in shelves I can reach." He complains and I still do as told.

"Heathen put me down, I have to cook!!" I had picked him up and thrown him over my shoulder, with the cooking almost done, I turned the heat down to let it simmer.

"What do you wanna talk about?" He asks making himself comfortable on the large bed in my room.

"Us." He straightened himself out and looked at me.

"I guess this talk is needed, look I get it you're the alpha, and I really like you, I know you might be gay or bi, so I'm taking my chances here, and also just trying to— I don't know care for you and maybe love you." He was nervous I could hear his heart drumming.

"I'm sorry, if I came on too hard." I didn't know what to say but my wolf calmed me and I looked at Aries, finding him almost in tears.

"Aries I asked because I wanted to make sure there was no mystery mate who would come take you once you're mine, I've been hurt before, I've loved and I've lost." He abruptly sprang up and hugged me.

"I promise I won't hurt you if you let me in, I know it will take time, but I will be here." He sobbed more until I calmed him down.

It was reassuring, knowing that there won't be some guy coming to take him from me, if I were to let him in, if I were to care or love him in the near future.

"I know it will take time, but I promise someone else coming is not on the cards, I'm not able to say why, not now at least but I will." I'm glad he was trusting me with his truth and someday I will entrust him with my own weakness too.

"Aries would you like to go on a date with me, I'm fairly new to this whole thing so be patient with me." I smiled nervously and he seemed to lose his nervousness.

"It's alright we will take it one step at a time, with our own stride." I was glad he understood, it was hard for me to be in contact sexually or romantically with anyone since the incident.

But therapy and being an alpha to a large pack has helped me with gaining normalcy or just the near touch to my body, I've been working on it with Aries every time we train and I'm better.

"And yes, I would love to go on a date with you, Alpha Heathen." I could feel my wolf's ego and pride skyrocket. He was a sucker for Aries.

So this was happening, I was slowly working on claiming the man sitting opposite me, he had taken a chance with a brute who didn't like people, I liked that, and I appreciated it.

I felt lucky.

"This is really happening Heathen." He chuckled, we hug again, more like me envelop him in my arms, and on my lap. I liked the smell of lavender that came off from him, it was soothing.

"You smell like rain and pine." I never knew that, I look at him quizzically. "It's true you do." After talking a little more we decided to have lunch.

"I'm starving." He rolls his eyes with a sigh. "Arent you always." I glare at him. "Put that glare away Alvares Heathen or you're not getting your full meal." I immediately put on my most innocent look.

"Puppy dog eyes really Heathen, you're full of tattoos and your body is pure muscle, how do you expect that to work." I let my wolf eyes show and tried again.

"Shit, fine you win okay, fine." A proud rumble from my chest comes out and Aries laughs. "Your wolf is beautiful by the way." That only encouraged my wolf, he went to kiss Aries's forehead.

"You're sweet." The two admire each other until my buddy gave back control.

>I want to mark him too bud, but we have to wait<

He whines but none the less agreed to wait, Aries and I had to slowly get there on both our ends to make this fire between us a real blaze with warmth.

I wanted more and like always he knew, I was served more, I could get used to this. "Heathen, slow down, you'll choke." I think I got chastised like a child, but it was so good.

"Put the pout away and stop whining you're twenty-nine." But that didn't mean I couldn't be myself, I was childish at some point before life screwed me over and with him, that child came out.

After lunch, we cleaned up. "Go invite Axel and Danny for dinner." But I could do it with a link, he looked up at me. "I know you can do it with the link, I just want those three servings of lunch to be digested by the time dinner is ready."

I groan getting my jacket, left a kiss on top of his head, and walked out to Danny and Axel's home. I'm sure they're going to be surprised by me walking to their house like this.

I was glad Aries and I had an almost clear path to get to what we wanted, and I'm sure we were working on forever.

I knocked on the house and the door was swung open by Danny. "Hey Heathen, what brings you? Come for dinner?" I shook my head.

"Come on in then!" Axel walked downstairs, his hair wet, must have come from a shower.

"No, thank you, Aries wants you over for dinner, my sister is coming too, he wants you there." Axel and Danny laugh.

"He got you to walk over here, for that." I groan glaring at Axel. "You could've used the link." Danny spoke up. "He wanted me to exercise and process lunch before dinner." They laugh again.

"I really like Aries more than ever now, anyway we'll be there soon, thanks for the invite, though I wonder why you didn't tell us your sister was coming." I just did, dumbass.

I huff and nod to Danny. "We'll be there soon, don't worry." I nod to Danny and walked back to the road.

This was going to be an interesting dinner.
