i woke up the next morning to sokka falling from the sky.

we jumped up and grumbled at aang and toph who'd apparently woken him up.

'so what move are you going to teach me first? rockalanche? the trembler? oh! maybe i can learn to make a whirlpool out of land!' said aang, disregarding sokka.

'let's start with "move a rock".' said toph, not sounding terribly excited.

'sounds good! sounds good!' he agreed, following her away.

i sighed and rolled out of my sleeping bag.

'hi katara' i mumbled, slipping my shoes on.

'hi y/n, you planning on seeing aang earthbend today?' she asked, taking her water pouch from appa.

i shook my head, 'i was gonna try and practice some bending myself.'

she nodded and walked towards aang and toph, leaving me to find somewhere to stay.

i sat behind a pillar and meditated : hoping that i could somehow get advice.

i closed my eyes and focused.

and when i opened them again, i was in the spirit world.

'long time no see' said a familiar voice from behind me.

i recognised it immediately.

'wan?' i smiled, turning around to see him.

he grinned and hugged me.

'hi y/n'

he pulled away, his face going serious.

'what do you need help with'

i conjured a cloud, but it dissipated into the air immediately.

he nodded, 'id be glad to be your storm bending mentor'

i grinned and he hugged me tightly.

'i have to go now.' he said, sadly, 'but im always with you, sis'

i smiled, tears already staining my cheeks.

calm down y/n you'll see him again.

then, the landscape switched and i was back in the real world.

and it was getting late.

'okay' i muttered, focusing.

i stepped forward, focusing and visualising the cloud form in my hands and, when i opened my eyes, it was there.

a swirling mass of crackles and light appeared in front of me - oddly graceful in a way only something so deadly can be.

i chuckled, smoothly moving it higher and higher.

i pushed it into a rock - only a small one - and concentrated on all the tiny pockets that were inside.

then, i imagined the air pushing ont he sides and ripping it apart.

the rock came flying towards me and i only just about had time to create a shield of air before it hit me.

i looked down at the place id been hit and didn't even see a scratch.

'y/n?' asked a small voice from behind me.

aang.

'what's up little man,' i said, flustered.

what the fuck was that y/n

he tilted his head and looked at the small pieces of rock in front of me that i was trying desperately to hide.
