⚠️Trigger warning, dying family member/loved one⚠️

I will put it in the text when it starts, it's not long because I do not like it either.

And before I begin with the chapter I have a question,

I have a feeling my way of write is weird and unreadable at some points, and I want to improve. If you have any tips I would love to hear them! :)

Thank you💕

It had been a few hours since the fight had ended. The Oxenstierna tribe had "won", but at what cost. A lot of warriors had fallen, and Time was still a bit frightening of Berwald.

The scary-looking Swede tried to repair his relationship with Tino as best as he could, but the more he attempted, the more the Finn pushed him away. At least, that's how Berwald saw it.

Everything was destroyed, Berwald's father had been badly injured alongside many others, a huge part of the village had been burned down. And of course, Tino.

The smaller man, on the other hand, wanted to talk with Berwald, but he didn't know how to. They walked silently alongside each other. The small Finn tried to speak up a few times, but not one word would escape his mouth.

Instead, he chose to slowly take Berwald's hand. It surprised the Swede, he thought Tino was pushing him away. It took a moment before Berwald held the smaller man's hand back. They didn't look at each other, nor did they talk. All they did was hold hands.

They wandered towards the forest, Berwald's wooden house was built near the edge. He thought the two of them would talk it out but instead, Tino let go of his hand. The Swede saw the Finn disappear behind a bunch of trees.

The smaller man had not looked at him once, he didn't know what Tino was going to do. He didn't know where he was going. What if this was his way of saying farewell. Panic shot through the taller man.

He tried running after him but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. "Berwald, I'm sorry but please come with me. It's your father." The woman said in a concerned tone.

The Swede didn't know if he needed to run after Tino or send his father off into the afterlife. He wanted to run after the smaller Finn, but he knew it wasn't the right decision. When someone of your family is going to join the dead you should be by their side to support them.

The scary-looking Swede nodded and followed the woman. He entered the room and saw his father on a bed wrapped in fur. He was breathing heavily, Berwald's aqua eyes grew wide. It took him a moment before moving towards his father.

"Father?" he muttered taking his dad's hand. The older man felt the touch and turned his head towards his son. "Förlåt, Berwald. [Sorry, Berwald.]" A confused look forced its way on the Swedes face. His father smiled and tightened the grip on his son's hand. "I will always watch over you." Tears appeared in Berwald's eyes, they couldn't be stopped even if he wanted them to. But right now, he just didn't care.

Hours had flown before Berwald's father had passed away. Berwald was an emotional mess, yet he couldn't show it. Not to the people that were going through the same thing. In his eyes, he wanted to be strong for them. So he put on his usual scary face and acted like nothing was wrong.

⚠️The trigger warning for dying loved one/Family member ends here!!⚠️

He just wanted to go into his house, sit near the fireplace and hold Tino close. Yet he knew it wasn't possible, the Finn has run into the forest.

He saw the people who're homes had burned down build shelters for the night, or enter others their houses who had invited them for the night.

Berwald made it to his house and opened the door. He noticed a person near the fireplace. He was asleep quietly and covert in a blanket made of brown fur. It was Tino, The Swedish man was confused but couldn't be happier about the smaller man's return.

He stepped closer towards Tino, sat down behind him and put his arms around the Finnish man. "Thank you..." He muttered into the smaller man's ear, pulling him closer onto his chest.

The smaller Finn woke up when Berwald touched him. His eyes widened when he heard Berwald say those words and he felt his face starting to burn. He felt himself being pulled closed to the Swede and a smile appeared on his face.

He turned around so he could look the taller man in the eyes. "Berwald?" He asked softly, the Swede was shocked by his sudden waking and let go of Tino, pushing himself backwards so he would know a bit farther away from the Finn. Berwald didn't know if Tino was ok with him being close to him.

Tino sat up orderly and looked at the Swede. Berwald was frightened to make eye contact, which was extremely out of character for the scary Swede. The smaller man crawled closer towards Berwald and carefully places one of his hands and the taller man's cheek. Tino put on a lovable smile, hoping it would comfort the Swede a little.

Berwald was now staring at Tino, gazing deep into his beautiful purple eyes. "What's wrong Berwald?" The Finn asked confused, he guessed it had something to do with earlier today but he didn't know the exact reason.

Berwald broke eye contact and looked at the hard ground once again. This pissed Tino off a bit. He placed his free hand on the Swedes other cheek and forced him to look into his eyes. "Berwald, listen to me, please tell me what's wrong so I can help you." He said strict, not blinking once.

Berwald crawled closer and almost laid his hand down on the Finn's head. But he hesitated, not knowing how Tino would respond. The smaller male noticed the strange behaviour and sat down on the Swede's lap. "Do you think I'm scared of you?" He said closing his eyes while resting his head on the taller man's chest.

It took a second for the Swede to realise what was going on, but when he got his act together he put his strong arms around Tino, in a protective manner. Like if he were to let go, Tino would suddenly vanish.

He lowered his head and was now whispering in Tino's ear. "My father passed away.." he muttered softly. Tino's eyes widened in surprise. "I'm sorry I didn't know.." He whispered once again.

"It's alright, Just stay with me.."
