It was quiet as Iris, Cilan, and Brock walked through Kalos to go to Clemont and Bonnie's place. The large city had an eerie feeling as they knocked on the door. A soft voice answered before Bonnie opened the door.

"Hey..." She looked exhausted. She rubbed her eyes.

"Hey... you good?"

"Yeah..."

"Can we come in?"

"Yeah..." She kinda walked away without closing the door. They followed her to where Clemont was. He was asleep on the couch with a cold washcloth on his head. He opened his eyes slightly and hummed.

"Well you two looked excited. Have you heard the news?"

"Which one?" Bonnie whispered. She replaced Clemont's washcloth and went into the kitchen.

"The one about Ash."

"Oh..." Her voice lightly echoed through the air as she returned. She rubbed her eyes.

"Yeah... we've heard..." Clemont's voice, which was softer than Bonnie's, spoke. "What about it..."

"Well... we were wondering what side you guys were on." Clemont closed his eyes as Bonnie spoke.

"We're not getting involved in either side. We're busy working on getting back on our feet here."

"Why? What happened?"

Bonnie was about to answer when a tapping came from the window. Bonnie went over and slightly opened it before her mind drifted. It was apparently enough as a small Pidgey opened it the rest of the way and entered. Bonnie went over to where Clemont had fallen asleep and replaced his washcloth. It flew over and placed a small package down on a table beside him. It chirped before taking off out the window again. Bonnie took a second to figure out what had happened before picking up the package and opening it. Her eyes lit up as she looked inside the box. Cilan went over and glanced over her shoulder.

"What?"

She smiled softly as she quickly went into the kitchen. There was a soft thump, which made Clemont wake up. Bonnie went over to him and held something out. He paused before slowly sitting up and she helped him out. The two siblings spoke quietly as the trio watched. Life seemed to fill Clemont's face. Iris slipped over and picked the box up. It had no return address but a small note attached.

"Get well soon, guys.
To Bonnie: This should help Clemont get back up.
To Clemont: Take care of Bonnie. You owe her after all her hard work.
-Max"

Max? Iris paused at the name. She had asked May where her younger brother was. She had answered quite strangely.

~!*!~

"I don't know. He wasn't at home when I went to ask him and when I did see him, he was entering the house after I had taken off. I haven't crossed paths with him in a while. I've seen him from afar, but that's it."

"Are you saying that you lost your brother?" Dawn had asked at the time.

"Until I can talk to him, yes."

~!*!~

She glanced at the two siblings as she drifted back to reality. Clemont had fallen asleep while Bonnie had some hope in her eyes. Tired, but hopeful. Iris gently placed the box back down and took the note over to the other two. She showed it to them. Brock frowned.

"Max? We haven't heard a word from him. Where is he?"

"I don't know. But he knows where we are. I have a feel this was meant to be seen by us. This little helpful gesture was meant to show something. The real question is who is he helping?" The group hummed as Cilan went over to Bonnie. She rubbed her eyes as she noticed him.

"You ok?" She nodded as she pulled the blanket further over Clemont. A blanket draped over her shoulders. "Rest. You look exhausted." Her eyes drooped as she instantly fell asleep. He caught her and laid her on top of Clemont. He turned to the other two as Brock spoke.

"The next time we see that Pidgey, as that seems to be the way he's sending messages, we need to have it send a message to him. He's going to answer us eventually." The other two nodded.

~!*!~

Kenny was walking through Velstone when a small group passed him, deep in conversation. He almost rubbed it aside if he didn't hear something desperate.

"Yes. Ash just got informed of the operation."

Kenny spun on his heel and stared at the group. They were all wearing cloaks with their hoods up. Their voices were hushed as they quickly left Kenny's line of sense.

~!*!~

"Excellent work."

The group settled down with a larger group. There were two small orbs in the middle.

"Of course. Let them see what they're up against. Not just a puny little boy. They lost that when they left his side."

"The others will be alerted soon enough. Let them see the full strength."

"You all did great." One of the orbs spoke with a familiar tone.

"Thanks Max. You're doing good with the confusion. Great job."

"Of course. They're up against the wrong person."

"Once they perform the first battle, they'll see their mistake." The other orb spoke.

"Naturally. Now then... what should we do?"

"Now we wait for their hand. We've shown part of our's, they'll soon see that their turn grows near. And when they play their hand, we start inching towards our aces."

"Copy that!" The group and second orb should. Each member seemed to glow at that.

"We are the League of Night. Nothing stands in our way. We have dealt with these guys before. Let's show them what we're made of!"
