"Let me help you with that. It seems heavy."

When Kai reached for the things that I was holding, more like hugging, I immediately moved my arms away. Nandito na kami sa book store. Halos kakarating pa lang namin pero malapit na akong matapos sa pagkuha ng mga kailangan ko. Kaunti lang naman iyon.

"Kaya ko. Hold this for me na lang." I gave him my phone and scrunchie that I was holding in my right hand. Tinanggap naman niya iyon at hindi na nagsalita.

I roamed around the store. Kai was just stalking me from behind with his arms crossed in front of his chest. Natatawa ako dahil para ko siyang bodyguard!

I almost jumped in joy when I saw a poetry book that I really really wanted to buy dati pa pero laging sold out, even sa online. I had a soft copy of it pero mas gusto ko kasing may hardbound ako.

"Kai, pakikuha, please." Tinuro ko iyong book sa taas. Hindi na akong sumubok na kuhanin iyon dahil alam ko naman kung hanggang saan lang ang kaya kong abutin.

"Bansot," pang-aasar niya bago kinuha ang book sa shelf nang walang hirap gamit ang kaliwang kamay.

I stifled a laugh when I saw him wearing my scrunchie on his wrist.

"Cutie," I teased when he gave the book to me.

Napairap siya dahil gets niya naman kung bakit ko siya inasar. Buti na lang talaga hindi siya slow na tao. Hirap kaya mag-explain ng joke tsaka nawawala na iyon essence!

"Is there anything else?" he asked instead of saying something about my joke. Akala ko rin tatanggalin niya iyong scrunchie dahil inasar ko siya pero pinabayaan niya lang iyon doon sa palapulsuhan niya.

Tumingala ako, nag-iisip. Umiling ako nang mukhang tama naman na itong mga gamit na hawak ko.

"Okay na."

"Let's pay, then let's eat. Come on." He gave my waist a light push.

Ngumisi ako. "Kylo, inaaya mo ba akong mag-date?"

He quickly rolled his eyes. "Nagugutom ako. Huwag kang assuming," masungit niyang sagot.

"Suplado, ah," I commented, laughing.

Umalis muna siya saglit dahil may naalala siyang kailangan niya. I just waited on the same spot he left me. Palagi pa naman akong nawawala sa book store dahil sa dami ng tao.

"Peralez!" I looked to where the voice came from.

I almost rolled my eyes but I managed to stop myself, turning my back against Landon. Sawa na ako sa pangungulit nito sa school. Having him as a blockmate was too stressful. He was really persistent in asking me out. He really can't understand the word 'no.'

"Hey, Sariyah! Where are you going?" Landon stopped me by the arm.

"Don't touch me," I uttered, a little irritated. Hindi niya ako binitawan. "You're so annoying. Can you stop pestering me, Landon?"

"Aren't you happy to see me?" This annoying man smirked and I swear I just want to punch him! Ayaw ko talagang hinahawakan ako!

I felt an arm slid on the back of my waist, pulling me close until my arm hit the side of his body.

"Mahal, are you done?" Kai asked, looking down on me boredly.
