Cold glass, touching sophie's lips jolted her out of the darkness she had been inhabiting.
"Where am I?" She quickly asked once her eyes had fully opened. Her head felt light, But at least she didn't feel nauseous anymore, oh no. Didn't she vomit on someone? She sank lower in her bed, dying of embarrassment. Wait, this wasn't her bed. She looked around searching for clues as to where she was, shelves lined with colourful bottles, a heart monitor and a man with crazy brown hair sticking out in all directions, with the biggest glasses Sophie had ever seen someone wear before, walking out of a door to the right of her.
"Awake I see, and to answer your question you are in the Realm of Healing." He said raising his hands in the air, no no no, not a doctor. Sophie hated doctors, ever since she was five and hit her head, trying to do a front flip, which turned out to be a very bad idea. She woke up in the hospital stuck to tons of machines, with doctors injecting random needles into her and everyone assuring her everything would be alright but she could barely hear them, it was like she was there but not there at the same time.
The doctor must have seen the look of pure terror on her face, because he came over to her, "Your ok, Sophie. My name is Elwin and I'm just trying to help you ok?" Elwin spoke to her carefully as if she would jump up and run away which she was considering. But he seemed nice enough, so she let him approach her. Sophie didn't know how she Had missed what he was wearing when he first entered the room, his scrubs were covered in a fluffy dinosaur pattern. Laughter threatened to burst out of her lips and she did her best to suppress it but a few giggles managed to escape her smiling lips. Elwin put his thumbs on Sophie's temples, randomly pressing down and asking, "Does this hurt?" Sophie would answer no each time, thankfully. He slid his thumbs to the very top of her forehead. "Does this-." He got interrupted by a loud,
"ow." This spot actually did hurt, he let go and went into another room. She lifted her arms and rubbed her forehead gently, but didn't remember hitting it, that was odd she could have sworn she was about to hit the floor when she blacked out. She shrugged it off and told herself not to worry, Just as Elwin came back through the door carrying a strange vile of bright orange opaque liquid.
"Here, drink this and you should be good to go! But your head might feel a little light for a bit." Elwin said handing her the strange vile. She pulled out the cork and decided to sniff the liquid, which turned out to be a very bad idea. It smelled like someone ate honey barfed it back up and then soaked roadkill in it for a year.
"What's in this?" She asked Elwin he looked back at her with a face of pity,
"trust me, you don't want to know." He said shortly turning back around to finish whatever he was doing. Maybe if she chugged it it wouldn't taste so bad? She decided to try it and drank the liquid in one go, it did not make it any better, it tasted exactly the same as how it smelled. Her gag-fest was interrupted by a loud knock on the door. Who could that be? Elwin turned toward her.
"Are you up for a visitor?" He asked motioning to the door.
"Uh, sure?" Sophie responded, maybe it was one of her friends.
"Come in!" Elwin yelled just as the door opened. A tall boy with artfully disheveled blonde hair and beautiful ice blue eyes walked into the room, wearing the same scrubs as Elwin, was this a new trend or something? He noticed her starring and struck a pose,
"I'm rocking the scrubs look, I know." He said dragging a hand through his hair, somehow making it look even better. She rolled her eyes, who was this guy anyway? He beat her to the question.
"I Never caught your name, Like I caught you." What was that supposed to mean?
"Uh, Sophie. Sophie foster." She answered, still confused. Wait, oh no. He was the one she vomited on, that's why he was wearing Elwins weird scrubs. She sunk farther into the depths of the hospital bed, if that was even possible. He was obviously very popular with him thinking he could say whatever he wanted and his hair, she barfed on probably one of the most popular kids at her new school. This. Was. Bad.
"What's wrong, foster? Don't worry you didn't beat the Great Gravy Incident, which I had nothing to do with." He winked and Elwin rolled his eyes but looked humoured. If she could die of embarrassment she would have right then, but she was slightly curious now.
"What's the Great Gravy Incident?" He opened his mouth to answer but Elwin cut him off.
"That's about enough Mr. Sencen." He rolled his eyes, but it seemed like there was more to it than just the annoyance of the interruption.
"Don't call me that." He said to Elwin as he backed toward the door. "Cya, Foster." He did a salute motion with his hand and then he was gone.
"Sorry!" She said as loudly as she could when he was gone but in reality it wasn't very loud, but apparently he had heard her as she heard a faint,
"All good, foster. Your lucky nothing got in The Hair!" She probably was lucky but she didn't know if it was for what he said, either way she let out a laugh.
Yay! They finally met. I wouldn't say in the best way possible but it's something, Lol. Sorry I didn't update yesterday I turned out to be busier than I expected. But it's here now so woohooooo! Have a great day everybody or night.
Mic drop.
