Kiyotaka wakes up a little after seven o'clock. The moral compass, being one of the first-years in Class 78 picked by Headmaster Kirigiri to manage the incoming students, was sure to wake up early so he could get ready.
The prefect looks over at his taller boyfriend in their shared bed, who was still asleep. Kiyotaka smiles lightly to himself, debating whether or not he should wake Mondo. After all, Kiyotaka could always use another hand in preparing that day's orientation. Even though it was only sixteen students to look after, two people (Kiyotaka himself and Kyoko) was a rather small number of people to manage an entire class, especially without any teachers.
After pondering it for a few seconds, Kiyotaka makes up his mind. He lightly feathers a finger over Mondo's cheek.
"Mondo darling..." Kiyotaka says softly.
"Can you wake up for me, please?"The biker's eyes pop open, and he looks up to see his boyfriend smiling at him.
"Nngh... mornin', babe. Why're ya up so early?""To prepare for the event, of course!" Kiyotaka replies.
"But it doesn't start until eight-thirty," Mondo mumbles.
Kiyotaka nods.
"Mm-hmm! I'm getting ready in advance! Would you mind helping me?""But Taka, I'm tired..."
Kiyotaka sighs. He really wanted Mondo to help him, but if Mondo wanted to sleep, he wouldn't stop him.
"How tired are you, Mondo?" Kiyotaka asks.
"I guess not that tired. I'll help ya, okay?"
Mondo lifts the covers off of himself, yawning slightly as he did so.The biker walks over to his prefect boyfriend, slinging an arm over the shorter boy's shoulder. Kiyotaka turns slightly to give Mondo a quick peck on the lips before going to get dressed.
"So, are you excited to assist our underclassmen?" Kiyotaka asks.
"Oi, gettin' to help some astronaut dude isn't that exciting of a feat."
Kiyotaka chuckles.
"Well, you never know, kyoudai. The two of you could end up becoming the best of friends. In fact, I'm sure all of the people we're meeting today are each talented individuals that I'm sure you could get along with if you tried hard enough.""And this is coming from the one whose student is a fuckin' robot," Mondo says.
"Hey! Don't show prejudice towards him! You've yet to meet him, so you mustn't judge!" Kiyotaka exclaims while staring at Mondo.
Kiyotaka opens up Mondo's closet.
"Which shirt do you want?" he asks."That one," Mondo replies, pointing.
"Saying 'that one' is an inefficient way to signify what you want, Mondo," Kiyotaka sighs.
"Fine. I want that purple one by your hand."
"This one?" Kiyotaka asks, taking out said shirt.
Mondo nods.
"Yeah, that one. Throw it over, wouldja?""Why don't you come over and get it yourself?" Kiyotaka asks Mondo.
"Don't wanna. Too lazy."
Kiyotaka sighs, throwing the purple shirt over to Mondo. The biker puts on the shirt while uttering a "Thank you, babe".
As Mondo heads for the bathroom to repair his slightly-messed up pompadour, Kiyotaka stops him.
"What?""Mondo, I did not see you put on deodorant. Go put some on. I won't have you going to that meeting smelling like sweat."
"God, okay," Mondo grumbles, closing the bathroom door.
"Don't take too long!" Kiyotaka shouts after Mondo.
A "Yeah, whatever" comes a couple seconds later, and Kiyotaka sighs.
"Taka! Where'd my hairspray go?" Mondo yells from the bathroom.
"There's a new can in the cabinet," Kiyotaka replies.
"Thanks, babe!"
After about five minutes, Mondo comes out of the bathroom, now ready as well. He plops down on his bed, and Kiyotaka grabs his binder out of Mondo's desk drawer.
"What even is in that binder?" Mondo asks.
"A schedule, regulations, information regarding who's with who. The usual stuff. Kyoko's is the same."
"So, is it just you and Kyoko managing things? Mondo asks.
"Or are there other people helpin' you two out?""It's just us, but I think we've got this" Kiyotaka replies.
Kiyotaka checks his watch.
"Alright, it's seven twenty-three right now. Headmaster Kirigiri said that we should be at the dining hall by eight for a short discussion of plans before Class 79 arrives.""We got plenty of time, bro," Mondo says.
Kiyotaka nods, setting the binder aside and sitting down next to Mondo. The biker pulls out his phone, appearing to be texting someone.
"Who are you talking to?" Kiyotaka asks.
"I'm gonna talk to Leon. It's only fair that he's gotta deal with this bullshit early too."
"I hope Leon's already awake," says Kiyotaka.
"It'd be rather rude if you woke him up for no reason.""Eh, if I woke Leon up, sucks to be him," Mondo replies with a shrug.
Within a few seconds, Mondo's phone starts going off. The biker quickly answers.
"Yo, Leon. Sup. Oh, I'm good. Taka woke me up to help him with this meeting bullshit. How long have you been up? Since five-thirty? Good god, dude! How do you wake up that early?"
Kiyotaka chuckles.
"Tell him I say hello.""Taka says hello," Mondo says into his phone.
Mondo keeps talking to Leon before he finally puts the baseball star on speakerphone (via Leon's request, of course).
"Kay, am I on speakerphone now?" Leon's voice asks.
Mondo nods.
"Yeah, dude. Taka can hear you.""Good morning, Leon," Kiyotaka says.
"Yo," Leon replies.
"So, you were the one who woke up Mondo, huh? When?""Around seven," Mondo answers.
"Hey, didja hear what Souda-senpai did yesterday?" Leon asks.
"Leon, you know I could care less about what fuckin' Souda does," Mondo replies.
"But it was funny! Trust me!"
Not wanting to hear another "Souda-senpai" story, Mondo ignores Leon.
"I don't think he wants to hear what Souda-senpai did yesterday," Kiyotaka says, shaking his head.
Kiyotaka stands up.
"Mondo, I think we should get going soon," he says softly."Mm-hmm, if you say so," Mondo mumbles back.
Mondo turns off speakerphone.
"Listen, man, Taka wants to leave, so we gotta go. Bye."Mondo hangs up, following Kiyotaka out the door and heading towards the dining hall.
