"Leon, get off of your phone! Class 79 should be here within three minutes, so you need to be ready for when they arrive!"
Kiyotaka stares over at Leon, who's on his phone laughing at memes with Hiro."These memes are hilarious, dude," Hiro says to Leon, both seeming to be ignoring Kiyotaka.
"Get off of your phone!" Kiyotaka yells again.
Leon groans, turning off his phone and leaning slightly onto Hiro's shoulder.
For the next week, Class 78 would be helping Class 79 get used to Hope's Peak. Even though the underclassmen wouldn't start school there until spring, Headmaster Kirigiri decided that the older students would be perfect candidates to assist the younger ones because not only were they around the same age, but because they are almost as new to the building as Class 79 was.
He had considered Class 77-B, but since they would be graduating this year, he chose younger students who would be there for at least another two years. After all, current first-years helping incoming first-years just made sense.
At the sound of the dining hall door opening, Kiyotaka clears his throat.
"Alright, classmates! Class 79 has arrived, so it would be best that all of you pay attention!"
The rather noisy first-years silence themselves after hearing Kiyotaka's loud, authoritative voice. Even though both he and Kyoko were put in charge of this meeting, it seemed Kiyotaka naturally took charge of the operation.
As Kiyotaka hushes his class, the younger students seat themselves at a table close to the center of the room. Normally, the dining hall had only one long table, but for the purpose of the meeting, another was added in the space left over.
After the prefect takes attendance to make sure everyone in Class 79 had arrived, he smiles to himself.
"Good, everyone's here. Okay, now! Welcome, Class 79, to Hope's Peak Academy's Week-Long Orientation! This week, each of you will be paired with a student from Class 78, and that student will help you to adjust to our school, preparing you for when you begin attending here in the spring. And if this works out well, Headmaster Kirigiri said that we could do this every other week. Before we pair you guys up, though, we each will introduce ourselves with our names and the ultimate talents we possess. I'll go first."
Kiyotaka stops for a second before introducing himself.
"I am Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the Ultimate Moral Compass and head of the Public Morals Committee!"One after another, each student introduces his or herself. Once that is finished, Kiyotaka flips to a different page in his binder to a list of who is paired up with who.
"Alright, now I will begin pairing each of you with a student from my class. The pairings have been predetermined by Headmaster Kirigiri and cannot be changed, so please do not object. I am in charge of last names A through L, and Kyoko is in charge of last names M through Z."
Kiyotaka starts reading off the pairings on his half of the list.
"Kaede Akamatsu, your student is Sayaka Maizono."{Time skip}
"Alright. The next student is Kiibo Idabashi, and you are paired with... me. Please come over here, Idabashi-kun."
The robot makes his way over to Kiyotaka, a hint of nervousness apparent on his face. Kiibo stands next to the moral compass as he continues reading names. Once Kiyotaka is done, Kyoko begins reading out hers. While Kyoko does that, Kiyotaka begins directing his group.
"Now that everyone has been paired up, I will conduct a tour of the building so that the newcomers become familiar with our school. Everyone, make sure to stay with the group. This is a large building, so it's easy to get lost in a place like this. We will start here on the first floor, gradually making our way to the fifth floor on top. Kyoko's group will be joining us shortly. Now, follow me, everyone."
Kiyotaka leaves the dining hall, his group following him.
This tour is going to take a while...
