Soulmates

Shifting

Elysian P/O/V:

The dwarves wake up slowly and start grumbling to each other while trying to restart the fire. I smile and concentrate on it waving my hand in a slight arc. The flames leap up and Bofur grins "Told ya I could do it." I roll my eyes and begin slowly climbing down to the ground "Good morning Ely." I smile "Good morning Bilbo, did you sleep well?" he nods "Yes thank you." I smile at Bofur who hands me a plate of food "Thank you." he nods and hands another one to Bilbo. He starts eating quickly and I eat half a piece of bread before handing him my plate "Here," he looks shocked "But you have to eat." 

I shake my head "I do not eat much usually, you eat it." he takes it slowly "Thank you." I nod and walk over to the horses stroking Nala's nose "Have you eaten?" she brays softly and I smile "Good we've got a long way to go." The dwarves pack away their things and we start riding again. I ride next to Gandalf and he smiles "The story last night was new." I shrug slightly and Bilbo appears on my other side "Do you tell stories often?" 

I shake my head "Not really only when people ask." he nods "What about the fire controlling thing?" I laugh "I can control all the elements among other things." he looks at me in awe "Woah, what else can you do?" I chuckle "I can shift into other forms, speak with people and animals through the mind and speak any language." Bilbo looks at me confused "What do you mean by shift?"

Gandalf chuckles and I smile at the Hobbit "I can transform into any animal. All Majda have what is known as a true form, I can't access mine due to the lack of magic here." Bilbo looks confused again "But there is magic here." I smile "Yes but compared to my home there is very little." 

Bilbo nods "What's your true form?" I smile and turn to Gandalf who turns to the Hobbit "The true form is sacred to the Majda and they are forbidden to tell outsiders what it is. Usually only the Majda and their soulmate know what their true form is as they are connected."

Bilbo turns to me "I'm sorry I didn't know." I smile "It's quite alright Bilbo, I'm sure you'll find out one way or another." he smiles slightly "Really?" I nod "As soon as I get my magic back it'll be the first thing I'm turning into." he nods and Fili yells "So what is your favorite form to take?" I smile at the dwarf over my shoulder "I don't know, probably an eagle or a wolf."

 Bilbo grins "So you can turn into any animal at will?" I smile and close my eyes shifting into a hawk and circling around the dwarves before landing back on Nala's back and shifting back. 

Bilbo grins "That was..." Kili grins "Awesome." I laugh and smile "Thank you." I catch Thorin staring and smile at him, he scowls and turns back around. I sigh slightly and Gandalf raises an eyebrow at me. I shake my head slightly and we continue riding in silence.
