Pha's pov:

I told them everything that had happened yesterday morning after he had woken up.

After i was done telling them everything, there was complete silence for a while.

"I'm still trying to figure out which part of what i said might have caused him to clam up like this. I never told him to stop relying on me or you guys." I pulled my hair.

"Clam up?" Dad asked.

"You haven't noticed?" I looked up at them.

They looked confused.

"Haven't you noticed anything off about him since yesterday?" I asked.

They looked deep in thought.

"Now that you mention it, it looked like something was bothering him yesterday. But he was trying to hide it." Mom mumbled.

I nodded.

"And now he didn't come to me when he couldn't sleep. He just took a cold shower and went to the reading room." I said.

Mom and dad were looking increasingly worried.

"But you didn't say anything bad to him yesterday did you?" Dad asked.

"Not that i know of no. But something i said seems to have triggered something in him. I don't know what." I was growing frustrated.

They didn't say anything after that.

Mom brought the food and put them on the table.

"I want to talk to him but i need to return to work today." I added.

"Didn't you say you took two week leave?" Dad asked.

"I did but the other doctor had to take emergency leave because of some personal issues so they are short handed." I said.

"One of the biggest hospitals in the country is shorthanded because two doctors took leave at the same time?" Mom frowned.

I sighed.

"Yeah. Pring pulled some strings again. This way she will have more opportunities to try to flirt with me. But i can't just not go to work at all."

"I really don't like that girl..." Mom mumbled.

"Me neither..." I answered.

"You stay with Ming. I'll talk to the director about this. Leave it to me." Dad spoke up.

"You sure?" I looked at him.

"Yeah. That girl has harassed you enough. If the director isn't going to do something about it i will." He said firmly.

"If they don't like it, you can apply to another hospital. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to accept you." He added.

I nodded.

"Maybe i should." I said.

They both looked at me.

"It's not only the management that's corrupted but even the doctors. They are way too rotten. The only reason i didn't quit for the past 4 months is out of respect for uncle Ram. He was the one who recommended me to that place after all." I said.

"I'm sure Ram will understand if you explain it to him." Mom said.

I nodded again.

"AAAAAARRGH!!"

We were all startled by Ming's scream.

We immediately shot up and ran to his room.

When we got there, the bed was empty and the bathroom door was open.
