I was in first period. Camila was next to me and Derek was next her.
Altogether there were only fifteen people in the class including me, Derek and Camila. There was short video playing on the screen that I wasn't paying attention to. The teacher was sitting at her table, not paying attention to us and most people in the class weren't actually paying attention to the video. Derek and Camila were submerged in their own conversation and they did try to include me but I wasn't paying attention so they kept talking amongst themselves.
My thoughts were focused on my brothers. There's no doubt that Kaden probably told the rest of my brothers about what I said to him and there was no doubt that Avery, Hayes and Blake were just as pissed off as he was.
Honestly, I don't understand why Kaden was tht pissed off. He was the on who was talking about me like I was a burden to him but he gets offended when his words come back to bite him in the ass. Technically, I don't know if they were his words but I sure as hell know he did agree with whoever said it.
First period was spent like it started except the class quietened down and we actually started doing proper work. Before I knew it, bell rang and it was time for second period.
Derek and I stopped at our lockers which were located in the same hallway. We got out books for English and we started walking together. Our walk was silent, the two of us walking in sync.
"So," I looked at Derek as he started talking, "how come you transferred?" He quirked an eyebrow at me.
I expected the question to pop up some time, I just didn't expect it to come from Derek.
"Family issues." I answered barley loud enough for me to even hear, "I just moved here."
"Cool." Derek nodded.
We were submerged in silence again for a few minutes. Every few minutes, a few people were greeting Derek, all of them looking to be about our age.
"You looked pretty flustered and out of breath this morning." Derek pointed out after a few minutes of silence, "Where you hiding from someone or...?" Derek trailed off, waiting for me to answer.
"I was running away from my brothers." I admitted the truth without thinking. I seem to be doing that a lot.
"What? Why?" Derek's mouth was slightly parted as he waited for my answer.
