chapter 10

Helena's pov

Giving Kim one last hug I walk I to the elevator which takes me to my floor

"Morning dear Happy birthday" Susie says quickly crushing me in a warm hug

"Morning Susie thanks you so much" I say blushing a bit

"I have a little something for you" she says before handing me a small gift bag

"Ohh Susie you didn't have to"

"Nonsense dear, I wanted to now open it up" she says excitedly, I take the gift  out of the bag opening the small jewelry box to reveal a beautiful silver bracelet with my name Helena Jade engraved on it with beautiful saphire stone stuck on the side which didn't have my name on it.

"Thank you so much Susie this is beautiful" I say giving her a hug as a tear escaped my eye

"It was my pleasure dear, I hope you like it"

"Of course Susie you are the best" right now the tears were having a marathon down my face

"I'm glad you do,now stop crying and hurry to your office before a certain someone catches us just standing" she says while speed walking away, chuckling I walk into my office with a huge smile on my face wiping my tears.

"What a day and it has hardly started" I mumble to myself

"Hmmm talking to yourself are we" I heard a voice say quickly looking up, I'm greeted with a smirking Jéan leaning on my office wall

"Good morning Sir, didn't see you there" I apologise quickly

"Good Morning Jade, Joyeux anniversaire au fait, j'espère que ça va bien jusqu'à présent (happy birthday by the way, I hope it's going well so far)" he asks

"Thank you Sir and yes so far I am more than grateful" I say blushing

"Well I am glad, if you don't mind following me I have your present waiting" he says before walking out office

"Hmm ohk Sir" I say mostly to myself quickly walking out to catch up with him.

We walk side by side to the elevator which takes us to the ground floor, Kim sends me a puzzled look when she sees me walking with Jéan, I equally gave her a confused look hoping to communicate that I have no idea what was going on. I could see how other workers were just looking at us as if something was actually happening that I had no idea about

"I don't pay you guys to stare you know" Jéan says loudly then turn towards everyone we just passed give then his signature expressionless face  before stepping out the building.

"Ehmm Sir where exactly are we going, I still have work to do" I say nervously

"Curious are we now" still smirking at me he gestures for me to enter the car which had it's door open by his driver. Through out the drive he didn't utter a single, he was just busy typing on his phone as if I wasn't visible.

Jéan's pov

I know most of you are wondering where I was taking Jade, well actually we are just going for dessert, I assume she already had breakfast but  I just didn't want to give her the present without anything accompanying it. Few minutes after we exited my office we arrived at a glamours looking yet petite bakery.

"Is this the place" she asked as we step out the car

"Yes"

"Délices célestes (heavenly delights), hmm sounds promising" she mumbles

"Ohh trust me it is, they sell the best French dessert in this area and also some other dessert from other countries" i say animatedly I know the owner of the bakery she is like a second mom to me, ever since I moved here this was the first bakery I stepped into to and I must say I have been quite a customer.
