deep in the woods ,  the lack of light , deep into nightfall

deep in the woods ,  the lack of light , deep into nightfall . the darkness swallowed whatever that was loitering about. the world was etched in charcoal, the once vibrant hues of the plants were no more than a vivid dream.

the blanket of blackness that obliterated the sun had not faded or thinned. the caliginous woods spiked up every nerve she had .

the dappled shade of the woodland trees had seemed so inviting only moments earlier.  the old, yellow and brown leaves hustled in the wind, as the sounds of dead, weak trees, creak at every push the wind gave.

the silence caressed chaeri's skin like a cool summer breeze, smoothing her soul, taking away her jagged edges. yet the darkness worried her , her imagination supplied many beasts with fantastical jaws to lurk beyond the range of her vision.

afraid of what the woods might hold , she was told upon many vicious beasts that lingered around . like shadowed figures , their silhouette was seen in every corner .

in that wasteland of darkness , there was nothing for her mind to hang onto. There was no familiar sight, no sound other than the howling .

each loud growling and howling brought the creeps up to her shoulder , shivering at the thought of being eaten or hunted.

she was lost.

she didn't see any direction that'd lead her home . she had argued with her mother earlier that night , in that rash moment , she decided to run to the woods nearby.

having yet another fight with her parents , at this point it was pretty much a routine now . getting into fights like never before , the fights so intense it drove both parties to drowning tears of fury.

she couldn't take it anymore , wanting to just storm out of her house , running away from the little town of hers to the woods nearby.

just to make the events worse , it was full moon , there amid the starlight was the ever glow of the moon, that mother of the sky whom watched over every beating heart, steady and true.

the perfect circular shape of the moon reflected down the shimmering lights , sending its silver rays down.

like a lullaby in the skies , alongside its company was the stars , every individual star was its own - unique and one-of-a-kind shape.

though the moon was so delightful, that was also the summoning of unpleasant beastly creatures - the werewolves.

the ones whom wondered and loitered in its territory, protecting the woods and hunting for food.

the werewolves move by the twilight moon, coordinated, but rarely in company. their target is prearranged and all that matters is a confirmed kill.

gone are the days of raging beasts with no thought to conceal their identity, anonymity is priority number one.

the howling was their way of communication , their way of signal . the high pitched sound that makes its way out of their mouth signals its pack of either help or attacks .

a loud howling sounded the area , startling her in every inch of her body . the howling was clearly from a beastly creature mostly known as werewolves .

she stopped in her tracks , high on alert as she scanned the area and once again , the same howling was heard .

however , the howling didn't quite sound like the aggressive howling she was told to be afraid of .

instead , it sounded like cries of help . that seemed the sympathy within her , wanting to help whatever that was .

though she knew she'd be in danger if she approached one werewolf as they usually wonder in packs , she couldn't care less .

it wasn't like she'd survive the night in the woods anyways , knowing she'd most likely not find her way out and not to mention , survive .

the amount of potential threats in the woods were uncountable , so much that no human could survive .

Jang chaeri was a human , no power or might . she couldn't fight or do any sort of self defence , she had no survival skills - she was doomed .

the growling and howling emerged louder and louder every time she headed towards the direction .

right there she was met with a werewolf , stuck in a collapsed tree . its tail stuck in between the floor and the large and weighty tree that was squishing its tail .

the growling became sympathy-seeking whimpers , the wolf laid down , shivering in pain .

her heart aches seeing it , rushing over to help the wolf . though the tree was heavy , she was able to push it away from the wolf's tail .

the wolf had eyes that was so enchanting and magical she noticed it right away , one eye being the shade of sapphire - eyes blue like the atlantic .

the other being a shade of silver - the white frosty colour reflected the warmth of the surrounding .

the wolf stood up majestically , bowing slightly as it thanked her . what manners the wolf was taught . she didn't know wolves could be so polite .

the wolf scattered away , she looked at the direction it wondered to , curiosity crept up and sparked in her .
