I Will Not Give Up
Part 1
Early morning light streamed in through my window when I woke up. When I opened my eyes, I could still see the fire. I could still see Namjoon, lifeless on the ground before me. I had failed.
I shielded my eyes from the sun with my arm and took a moment to collect my thoughts.
"What could I have done to save him?" I wondered aloud.
I sifted through my memory, trying to find a relevant clue as to why I was stuck in the 30th of September. The time loop had established a new residence in the moment where the containers caught fire. I had no idea why the time loop chose that moment in time and I certainly had no clue as to how I would go about ending it either.
And on top of that, I knew nothing of the map of the soul: the key to end the loop entirely.
After failing the first loop several times I stumbled across the term "map of the soul".
"Find the map of the soul. Only then will this all be able to end."
"The map of the soul? What is that?" I had asked.
"I gave you a clue, so now you will pay the price for it." That was the only answer I got back.
I decided to go for a drive. I turned my indicator on to turn, when I saw the gas station where Namjoon worked in the distance. As I changed lanes, my mind was trained on one thought and one thought only:
"If I prevent the accident on the 30th of September, this loop will end. Focus, Seokjin. If someone gets hurt, focus on the goal. Prevent the accident. Stop for no one, or you won't be able to stop the loop. Save as many as you can, but save yourself too, Seokjin."
The least I could do was make it out of this time loop alive.
