11. Fear..⏱

Hardin POV

If i could tell you how scared and empty I feel right now.... everything hurts so bad, I'm so exhausted

This was supposed to be a happy day, I was supposed to make tessa happy, but I failed once again, I didn't protect my family

I just can't explain what I'm feeling, it's the worst feeling ever.... the fear of losing a child

The doctor just told us he could die, my two year old son might die, I didn't even get to say a goodbye, or anything

The only thing I know, is that he doesn't deserve it, he's got a hole life waiting for him, to explore and enjoy every moment

I would do anything, to keep him alive, he's a fighter, my little fighter, and I know he can do it, I know it's not his time to leave this world

Tessa hasn't stopped crying for the last 5 hours, and the worst thing is that we are both exhausted, it's 6:30 in the morning

I feel so bad for her, I've been trying to calm her down, but she keeps having panic attacks

"Baby, why don't you lay down, sleep a little and I will wake you up when the doctor comes"

She looks at me with tears "you need to stop crying baby... come here" she lays next to me and I move whining in pain

I stroke her hair and whisper sweet things on her ear till she finally calms down, falling asleep

I kiss her head and fall asleep holding her

We wake up to a knock on the door, I instantly remember everything, I look at the hour and it's 8am

Tessa gets up and a doctor walks in "he just got out of surgery, he lost a lot of blood, but everything is ok now, miraculously he's still alive"

Tessa looks at me with happy tears on her eyes "thank you!" She hugs the doctor while crying

"You're welcome, we didn't had to amputate his arm, but almost did, he will be waking up soon, and I think he would like to see his parents next to him"

Tessa takes a step back and I see her smile "thank you so much" I shake his hand, I knew Auden would make it

"He's in a lot of medications for the pain, although he's still going to feel pressure and a little of pain on his arm"

"But he's stable, you can go see him"

My little boy did it once again, it was just the feeling of losing him that scared me, but deep down I knew he would make it

A nurse helps me sit on a wheelchair and they take us to Auden's room

As soon as we walk in, tessa holds his hand and kisses his forehead "oh my god" she cries of happiness "I've never been so scared"

She says and I hold his other hand, I'm so grateful

After 20 minutes he opens his eyes and looks everywhere confused

"Thank god baby" Tessa hugs him

"Sissy?" Is the first word he says, me and tessa look at each other and instantly smile

One of the many things I love of Auden, is that he always makes sure his family is ok

"She's at grandpas house" tessa strokes his hair, he looks at his arm "how are you feeling?"

"Hurts" He looks at me with tears

"I know buddy" I kiss his head "everything is going to be ok I promise, it's just healing" he nods

A nurse checks his temperature and dose a quick check up while we stay next to him, I'm so proud of him

The doctor gave him cars and lots of toys, I play with him while tessa calls everyone telling them auden made it through the surgery

"Red won!" He tells me with a big smile , making car noises

"You are so fast!" I kiss his forehead

"I know daddy" I instantly laugh, I love this little boy so much

"I'm so proud of you" I tell him and he keeps playing with his toys

*7 hours later*

Auden has been doing great, my dad and Karen are coming with emery, we are exhausted, we need to sleep

We feel a knock on the door "come in" tessa says

The door opens and I see my dad, Karen and emery

Emery runs to me "daddy!" She hugs me, I pick her up and kiss her everywhere

"Hey princess" she giggles

I put her down and she runs to tessa

"Hey" I hug Karen and then my dad

"How is he doing?" Karen asks, I put my hands on my head and sight

"He just fell asleep, but he's stable" I hug tessa from behind, while she holds emery

"Buddy?" Emery asks, I take her from Tessa's arms and sit her on Auden's bed

"Be soft ok?" She lays next to him and kisses his cheek

"Wake up, playyyy" she touches his eyes, trying to open them

"Em he needs to rest, you can play with him another day" she nods and puts his head next to him

"Luv u" she whispers on his ear
