Kenny exhaled a cloud of smoke, it's toxic scent permeating the brisk sea air as he observed the open waters from the balcony area. He was lost in thought, when a voice interjected,

"You're not allowed to smoke on the ship, you know."

Oikawa chirped, and Kenny turned to face the teen before tossing the cigarette overboard into the ocean. Said action causing the brunette male's expression to churn distastefully,

"That's littering..."

Oikawa muttered, and Kenny simply shrugged,

"Who cares, and besides, since the virus started. Large companies haven't been dumping all their garbage and pollution into the sea anymore, so the water's slowly been getting cleaner. One cigarette isn't gonna hurt it."

He added, and Oikawa leaned against the rail; Judging by the expression on the teens face, Kenny presumed there was something he needed to talk about and came to the cowboy to confide in,

"Everything okay, kid?"

Kenny questioned, and Oikawa sighed deeply,

"Not exactly. No."

He smiled weakly, before averting his gaze back to the rippling waves,

"I've been thinking about a lot of stuff lately, and I've been so stressed. I just--"

He sighed heavily, and ran a hand through his curled chestnut locks,

"I don't know where half of my team is. They're not at base anymore, and they won't respond to my radio calls. The only teammates I know that are okay, are the ones here with me on the ship currently. Not to mention, the whole thing with (Y/n)."

He trailed off, running another stressful hand through his, now, disheveled locks,

"I've been trying to be strong, especially after what happened with Yui, but..."

He was reluctant to finish his sentence, but he looked up at the taller male with somewhat pleading eyes,

"If (Y/n) dies...I don't think I'd be able to handle it. It'd completely destroy me..."

He paused for a moment, allowing himself to gather the words to speak,

"Not only that, but I haven't really been there for her or the team, and I feel like there's more that I could be doing to contribute right now, but I just--"

Kenny clicked his tongue, interrupting Oikawa's slew of words before speaking,

"Come on, kid. Give yourself a break."

He stated firmly, and Oikawa raised an inquisitive brow,

"You're dealing with a lot right now. Hell, you've recently had to cope with the death of your lover."

Oikawa fell silent, and pursed his lips as he continued listening to Kenny's words intently,

"You've been through hell and back, kid. Don't be so hard on yourself."

Kenny spoke, before dismissing himself, and exiting the ship's deck. Oikawa sighed heavily for, what seemed to be, the thousandth time that day. With endless thoughts racing through his mind.

You pushed your tray through the breakfast line as the kitchen staff piled your tray with food.

On the ship, they served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and because this ship was formerly apart of the military. They served basic foods that were part of the main food groups.
