This chapter is short psa, but I think this portion of the story sounds better broken up into pieces!

I should've told Ron and Hermione where I was going. I should've told someone, anyone; but my stubbornness had betrayed me once again.
I found myself at the edge of the grounds, the grass ending where the sticks and leaves began; the trail that lead into the forbidden forest. I took a deep breath.
'Keep yourself composed,' I thought to myself. I couldn't do it if my mind wasn't in the right place. I took small steps into the forest, twigs crunching beneath my boots as I walked through the twisting trees.
Crickets chirped in the nearby grass, owls hooting as they sat in the branches.
"Shit," I muttered under my breath, having run into a rose thorn leaf. It had struck me right on the lip. I wiped the blood from my mouth onto my jeans, then continued walking. I held my wand up with one hand.
Suddenly, it got silent. Too silent. The ambience of the forest had come to a complete stop. And the silence terrified me.
Leaves crunched behind me, making me whip my head around.
"Draco?" I whispered, facing the noise. It was nearly pitch black.
"Lumos Maxima," I muttered, the forest illuminating around me. I continued walking.
Another twig snapped behind me, causing me to turn around. There stood Draco.
"What's going on?" I held my wand up to him. Teardrops ran down his cheeks, but he kept his face composed. Before I could ask any further questions, death eaters, at least a dozen of them, stepped out from behind him; including Bellatrix, his father, and Snape. I gulped.
"Do it, Draco," Bellatrix slithered in his ear, her laugh filling the silence. He stared at me, his wand pointed at mine. "Expelliarmus," he muttered, causing my wand to fly backwards into a gathering of butterfly bushes.
"Do it," Bellatrix slithered once more. "Don't be a coward like your father," she hissed.
"He's not a coward," I yelled, my voice strong.
"Oh honey, can't you see he's been using you all this time?" she giggled.
"Last time I checked your the one with a burn scar on your neck," I hissed.
"DO IT," she yelled in Draco's ear, causing him to flinch.
I lowered my hands, closing my eyes, repeating only one phrase over and over in my mind.
'I will not die.'
I took deep breaths, my eyes still closed as Draco stood ten feet in front of me.
"Ava-"
"Avada Ked-"
he stammered, his voice breaking.
"Avada Kedav-"
He broke down.
"Draco," I looked him in the eye.
"It's okay," I gave him a reassuring look, my voice soft as honey, incredibly convincing.
He shook his head, lowering his wand.
"Draco," I looked at him.
"Avada Kedavra."
