❝ Time Heals is what I've been told, but all that soothes the searing pain is being in the embrace of that one person who makes you feel perfect, calm and relaxed. ❞

A twist here and a turn there. Beads of sweat found their way down her forehead. Despite being a cool night she was fighting a dreadful demon. Some demons are hard to defeat, they linger longer than expected and traumatise one more than deserved. Another night, another nightmare.

It was a sombre night, darkly intense and chilly surroundings made her feel a piece of some horror flick. Her throat felt dried up as if someone was sucking the last bit of breath out of her. She felt herself being throttled against a force she couldn't overcome. Tears rolled down her soft cheeks as she realised her heart was so full that just a pinch of a needle will burst it into million tiny pieces. Pieces that she will lose forever, causing irreparable damage. Her eyes were hurting and swollen as she tried to search for someone. She was so exhausted, mentally and emotionally.

Then she saw him. His perfect back facing her. He was moving away in small steps. With every step he took, she felt a part of her breaking. He will be gone. He walked away down the path, not even a second glance or a pause to look back. He was gone. She couldn't have been more relieved now that he was never coming back but she felt like a living corpse without a soul.
Her soul had vanished like effervescence from a soda can. As funny as it sounds it was the truth. She felt bereft. Her soul was in a state of unimaginable loss. Her sense seemed to have given up as well. She wanted to respond but all that came out of her mouth was a weak whimper. She couldn't move and her vision was so blurred that her eyes involuntarily blinked multiple times to give her the vision she needed to take appropriate action given the time she was left with.

She needed to act now.

Her eyes were fixed at the end of the road until there was nothing but a faint shadow escaping. Disappearing in the empty void of nothingness.

She ran.

She ran with all her might.

She thought her legs might give up but she ran.
She couldn't do it. She couldn't bear to imagine the feeling of never being in his presence. She was too weak and vulnerable.

She had to run.

She was panting so hard. She was sniffing, sobbing and her legs hurt, god they hurt so bad.

" K-Kush... N-No... Wait... Pl-please... S-Stop... Hey!..." She was chasing a shadow that no longer existed.

She was sprinting so fast to catch up but he was nowhere to be seen. He was just there and now he is not. She looked around but it was the end of the road. A dead end.

" Kushh... " It was a desperate longing loud shout, a call for salvation. It was she who needed saving.

" K-Kuushhhh...." She shouted again so hard that her lungs might burst.

The only reply that found the way into her ears was of prolonged silence, it was just her by herself, deserted and alone.

With a jerk so hard, Meera woke up. She was sweating despite the AC throwing in cool air down at her. She was breathing heavily and nearly panting. Her eyes were wet and her head was aching. It was really a bad one.

The nightmares weren't stopping instead they had changed to something more ruefully cruel, what she can't even imagine - losing Kush forever.

" Ssshhsshh... Honey..." It was a soothing husky soft voice calling her, right beside her. She turned and in the darkness as she heaved a sigh of relief on just hearing his sweet cooings. She knew he was here, right next to her. She laid back and he wrapped her up in his arms.
