Jason hated commotions, especially when there was a crowd of people clashing against each other in hoped of looking it. They were so fucking loud.

He loved fights though, it got his adrenaline pumping, which is why he made his through the slowly gathering crowd of riled up teenagers, half limping because of his injury but it didn't bother him...much. It sent a shock of pain through him every time he put pressure on his bad ankle but the urge to know what was happening won him over.

The two people throwing punches were not who he expected them to be.

Charlie Hayes was straddling Grant as he landed another blow to his ribs. oof- that must've hurt. Charlie was one of the most level headed people he knew and if it got him throwing punches, whatever Grant did, it was bad.

Grant managed to drop a punch onto Charlie's face and that was the last straw. No one touched his Charlie. Jason grabbed him by the stomach and pulled him up and away from Elmers, almost losing control as Charlie's arms flailed desperately, "Let me at him Pierce! I'll knock the fucker out"

Jason tried his best to smother a laugh at the comment while some of Grant's teammates pulled the asshole away from the scene and Jason gave him best glare he could manage. Sam, who he knew was Grant's best friend gave him an apologetic look as thumped Grant on the head. Deserved.

He dragged Charlie- who was still muttering profanities under his breath- towards the kitchen so he could get some ice for his jaw. There was light purple bruising on his skin but it was barely noticeable. Jason grabbed a bag of frozen peas and handed it to Charlie. The other man's gaze remained on him as he pressed the make shift ice bag against his jaw, wincing slightly.

That's when Jason saw it, the glossy tint to Charlie's plump lips and the black makeup lining his eyes. His breath hitched, holy shit, how had he not noticed before, Charlie looked gorgeous. Jason pretty sure his mouth dropped open. Never in his life had he seen Charlie wear makeup before and goddamn, it was a beautiful sight.

"You're wearing makeup", he sputtered out, licking his lips. Charlie blushed and looked away, "Yeah so what", he said trying to look indifferent.

Jason reached for him, cupping his face in his hands before pressing his lips to Charlie's. Unlike the kisses they shared during sex, this was...different. Lighter, and the fact that he could taste the lip gloss made it way hotter.

"You look fucking stunning", he whispered, breathless as they pulled away, "And your eyes." Charlie exhaled sharply when Jason ran his thumb over his cheekbone, "They always remind me of the sea, so light, so beautiful"

"Jason-", he was cut off by Liam and Harley who entered the room bickering about drinking too much. Not for the first time in his life Jason wanted to punch his best friend. Charlie pulled away from him as Liam walked up to them, "Yo why exactly did Grant punch you?"

Huh, good question, Jason was curious too.

Charlie snorted before pressing the ice pack to his cheek, "He called me some homophobic slurs", he shrugged, "It pissed me off"

It shocked Jason a bit. Jason didn't have the best gaydar but even he was pretty sure, Grant's best friend, Sam, was gay. Sam and Jason had been in the same drama club when they were freshmen and if he remembered anything about him, it was the fact that he found him kissing another guy at one of their rehearsals.

He wondered how Sam was friends with a homophobic guy like Grant. Jason felt bad for him.

"Little bitch", Jason snarled, taking in Charlie disgruntled appearance and Charlie's eyes widened in surprise but he then smirked, "I'm used to it, I'll get a drink and forget about it"

He blinked in disbelief, "That's even sadder man, I wanna kill that little-"

"Come on Jase", Harley interrupted, rolling his eyes lightheartedly, "We already know Grant is an asshole, he probably knocked you out during the game on purpose, don't mind that fucker"

Jason cringed at the memory of Grant ramming into him at the football field, it was one of the most painful experiences in his life but thankfully, it wasn't a very serious injury. He just wouldn't be able to play football for a couple of days.

He watched as Charlie grabbed a bottle from the cooler and headed into the crowd, his hips swaying. Jason couldn't help but smile.

"Tease", he murmured under his breath, his tone fond.

Jason was then pulled into a conversation with his friends, but was soon starting to lose interest because of a certain man with black hair and blue eyes. He never had been good at ignoring Charlie, his eyes always seemed to gravitate towards the other man, sometimes he didn't even know he was looking at Charlie until he glared at him.

Right now, Charlie was leaning against one of the far walls, drink in hand and next to him was Parker. They were laughing about something. Jason knew they had gone on a date once and knowing that, witnessing their interaction hurt more.

They did not look friendly at all, no they looked fucking cozy, Parker's hand thrown over Charlie's shoulder and Charlie's head resting against his arm.

Suddenly Parker moved and pressed his lips to Charlie's and that was it, Jason jumped up from his spot and rushed over to them like a mad man. Thankfully, Charlie pulled away from Parker before smacking him on the head.

"Hey Hayes", Jason called out, feigning nonchalance and watched in satisfaction as they jerked apart. Parker looked at him with a smirk and never in his life had Jason wanted to punch someone so badly.

Charlie smiled wide and his entire face lit up, "Hey Jason!", he threw himself at Jason and hugged him close to his warm body. That's when he realized Charlie was drunk. Oh boy.

His familiar scent filled up Jason's senses as he hugged him back and when they pulled away, he supported Charlie's weight so he wouldn't sway. He gave Parker a dirty look before walking away with Charlie. What the fuck, why was he suddenly jealous? Charlie wasn't his; it could never work out. Charlie deserved someone who was out of the closet, who could love him freely.

Was Jason ready to be that person?
