CHAPTER TREINTA OCHO
charli's pov

There is knock at
the door, I invited
Vincent over to talk
about Ryann. I'm
regretting it now.

"Hey, come in."
I smile moving out of
the way to be polite.

"I don't think we've
ever talked or hung
out alone before."
Vincent chuckles
looking a little bit
uncomfortable.

"Yeah, this will be
interesting." I add,
sitting back down
on the couch.

Vincent follows and
sits down as well but
on the opposing
side of the couch.

"So what's up?"
Vincent finally asks
after we sat in
silence awkwardly
for a few minutes.

"I know we aren't
close but I want
you to try and help
me get back
together with Ryann."
I state.

Vincent looks at
me with a thinking
face, probably trying
to decide whether to
help me or not.
I know he doesn't
want me hurting his
best friend.

"I guess I can try
since y'all cute, but
I will not be pushing
boundaries. No funny
businesslike stalking."
He jokes.

We come up with a
plan, which might
take some time only
depending on how
things go.

"I know I should give
up, but I can't. I have
a feeling she might
still want me." I shrug.

"I wouldn't be so
sure, she's trying to
steal my girl." Vince
jokes again.

"You're not helping."
I state rolling my eyes
and groaning in
annoyance with the
whole Ryann thing.

"I already agreed to
the plan, so it sounds
like I am helping." He
chuckles annoyingly.

I look at Vince sternly
and say, "you better
stick to the plan, we
don't want beef."

Vincent's phone
starts ringing in his
pocket and he quickly
answers it, a look of
confusion growing on
his face.

I want to be nosy and
ask who but I am
respectful. Yes, I am
respectful.

"Wait what? What
happened?" Vincent
questions looking
worried and again
confused.

Now I am even more
curious, I know
I should probably stop
listening but I can't.
I mean I could go to
another room, but he
could do that too.

"Is she okay??" He
asks another
question, still with
a worried tone in his
voice.

I get up and go to
the kitchen, trying to
contain my curiosity.
The mood in that
room is making me
uncomfortable and
making me worried
for no reason.

I sigh and try to
distract myself by
making a snack for
myself and watching
some tiktoks.

"Charli?" Vincent asks
quietly while walking
into the kitchen.

"Yes?" I reply
wondering what he
would say and why
he sounds so serious.
I guess he might just
be saying goodbye.

"The phone call was
about Ryann..."
