"Repeat what happened to me again," Jisu demanded, as she and Chaeryeong stared at Ryujin across the canteen table, just as shocked and stunned as Ryujin was the day before. Surprisingly, Yeji didn't seem so shocked, simply looking puzzled at the complicated wrapping of her sandwich.

"I'm going to this annual gathering party thingy with Choi Beomgyu," Ryujin repeated for the nth time to her shell-shocked friends.

"Choi Beomgyu," Chaeryeong carefully asked, "The rich snob who beat me in every subject, except English, may I just say."

"He's not that much of a snob," Yeji said, adjusting her straw in her drink.

That made Jisu frown, "Why are you defending him? Just curious, I mean, but we've never spoken much, so all we can rely on are rumors."

"Yuna's been quite close with one of Beomgyu's friends recently, I think," Ryujin remarked, her tone light but wary.

Chaeryeong wanted to say something but then thought better of it, and instead asked, "Are you going to tell your dad? Like, how are you going to get there?"
"And what will you wear?" Jisu added, "I don't know much about rich people, but I bet they won't let you in with a simple H&M dress."

A heavy sigh from Ryujin. "Good point," She nodded slowly, "I think Beomgyu will go with me, as for the dress...maybe I'll try and find one this weekend?"

"How about Saturday? We can go with you," Yeji eagerly suggested.

"Not Saturday," Ryujin quickly intercepted, "I'm busy on that day."

Chaeryeong laughed softly, "You're always busy on Saturdays."

Despite seeming like a really stuck up, care-free person, Ryujin actually could be quite serious. She just didn't show it much. After all, no one in the school likes the idea of helping the needy. The reason why she hid the fact that she volunteered was more because she didn't feel like it was necessary to announce to everyone.

And it did seem weird that Ryujin, who was driven to school each morning and could afford holidays every six months would want to do charity work.

But she loved it. She loved meeting people and seeing their drained features brighten, and she especially loved being with children.

So it would certainly spice things up if she brought along Beomgyu.

-

She was stopped on her way to class by a hurried Beomgyu one morning. The fact that he grabbed her arm and yanked her off caused quite a ripple of exclamation and whispers, which made Ryujin wince. When Beomgyu finally pulled her into a staircase landing, Ryujin shrugged off his hand and hissed, "What the hell? Couldn't you have been less...I don't know, dramatic?"

Brushing off her concerns, Beomgyu quickly said, "I told my parents, and now they want to, like, either meet you or pay for your clothes. Because there's a dress code. I told them you're busy, so I need to give my mom your phone number so she can contact you." With that, he slipped out of phone smoothly, the screen displaying a new contact for her to type her number. "Thanks?" Ryujin trailed off as her fingers tapped and handed back the phone. "I gotta go," She quickly said, rushing off as if late for her class, but more to relish the little thing she did.

Bewildered, Beomgyu checked the screen, which now read: Ryu~ 😘
Beomgyu chuckled slowly, this would be interesting.

-

"Why were you being dragged away by Choi Beomgyu just now?" Jisu demanded as Ryujin took her seat and dug through her bag in search of the class work, trying to act as natural as possible. Yeji flung an eraser at the nosy girl, and told her, "Let her be, gosh. It's not like she's dating him."

"True," Jisu sighed, "But it was interesting to see all those girls stare at you two."

The girl in question did not have any retort, instead her mind wandering to a certain party with a certain boy.
