School was tense when there was a girl with a problem avoiding you, especially if you shared half your classes with her.

But Taehyun was determined not to let that bother him, instead deciding to ponder on what new game he could get, considering the rather generous pay of his cafe job.

After a good week of hide and seek, Chaeryeong had left a note on his table, requesting to meet him at the school roof.

-

Someone had once mentioned that the school roof was an excellent place to have quality conversations. But Taehyun really didn't need one up there. Especially not with Chaeryeong.

But the girl was ecstatic to get there, saying that it was incredibly difficult to get up here and that the view was to die for. She had slipped her legs through the bars of the railings and sat down, almost like a child.

Taehyun took a careful seat beside her, not saying anything. Chaeryeong took in a deep breath of the fresh cool air and smiled apologetically, "I must have really hurt your feelings, huh?"

"Hm?" Taehyun asked, not wanting to have too deep of a conversation.

"I must have hurt your feelings when all I could talk about was Do San," The girl explained. She swung her feet as she stared at the horizon, "I had liked him for a really long time. I used to get sick really often as a child, well, I still do now. I met him in the hospital, he was getting treatment like me. We had a lot in common, having practically grown up in the hospital. So we became really close. We were both supposed to go to Seoul High, but then he got into a car crash."

"Mhm," Taehyun hummed, just to inform her he was still listening.

"He got into a coma, blah blah blah, you know the rest," Chaeryeong then retracted her legs, and hugged her knees as she rested her chin on them. "I guess, it's really sad he had forgotten everything about me, even my allergy...but I guess I can't control it."

"Well," Taehyun shifted awkwardly, "But no one said you can't start afresh."

Tilting her head like a confused puppy, Chaeryeong was obviously puzzled so Taehyun further continued, "You can be his friend again. Get to know him again, and let him get to know you. It'll be good for both parties, you can spend time with him and maybe he'll remember you someday."

"Someday," Chaeryeong said wistfully, before shaking off the thoughts and said, "Well, maybe I should let go of that crush. I mean, it's not doing much for me. And he doesn't...love me the same way, I guess."

Taehyun paused for a second before he murmured something, so soft that she couldn't hear it.

"Maybe you'll realise someone loves you too."
