"No," Soobin coldly replied, swift and firm. Jisu felt her insides curdle, and she hastily tried to cover up her disappointment with an "oh, okay", before she hurriedly picked herself up and managed a stiff bow to the boy anyways. "Thanks for your time," She said softly, brushing her cheeks and grateful there were no tears.
And that memory was still ingrained in her brain no matter what.

"How was your weekend?" Ryujin greeted her as Jisu plopped herself down and slumped over the table. "Ugh, don't even get me started," The girl grumbled. Yeji sipped her drink mildly, "You did it, didn't you?" "Did what?" Ryujin asked curiously. "She confessed her undying love for none other than Choi Soobin," Yeji dramatically declared. Sitting up even straighter, Ryujin, now incredibly intrigued said, "Really? Damn, didn't know you had it in you, Jisu." The girl wrinkled her nose, "Yeah, but I was rejected horribly." Yeji sympathetically patted her back, "It's fine. There are plenty of other fish in the sea."
"Yeah, anyways, Soobin has a girlfriend." That sent a stream of water out of Jisu's mouth, coughing and gagging in shock. "You didn't know?" Ryujin scrunched her nose.
"I asked a guy that was already taken out." Jisu seemed to be unable to grasp that idea. "Crap. Who's the girlfriend? I probably should apologise."
Yeji sniffed, "Lee Ara. You know, that quiet, shy kid. Never knew Soobin was into that kind. He seemed like a guy who got a new girl every week."
"He is," Chaeryeong butted in as she slipped into the only available chair, "Or at least he was. Something happened, I think a family matter, so he decided to stick to one person, and that one person is Lee Ara."
"She's pretty chill, I think," Ryujin thought out loud, "Really sweet, caring, average student. "
"Not helping," Jisu muttered, "Now I feel even worse."
Enthusiastically clapping the girl on the back, Yeji reminded, "Don't worry, because since we were part of the musical committee, we'll be having a party of kind of, you know, celebrate the success, at Ryu's house!"
"I barely contributed anything," Ryujin cheerfully mentioned, "Simply a location and some food and that's it!"
That made Chaeryeong nudge her, "You performed, silly."
As the duo bickered and chattered, Yeji told Jisu, "Anyhoo, most of the committee can't make it, so it'll be roughly fifteen of us? Assuming anyone shows up."
"It'll be fun," Ryujin assured her, stopping her conversation with Chaeryeong to send a playful wink, "We'll have fun."
