Chapter 20
After a brief spell of sleep, I woke up to find Lily standing over me. She filled me in on what happened. There was almost no trace of the man who attacked me and his accomplice. The only thing he had left behind was an old camera. Both Mangle and Henrietta were missing.
The weird police lady claimed Mangle was in the nightmare realm. I hoped she was ok. The only remnant of Henrietta was the huge smirk on Rem's face. Judging from Nero's story, Rem would need a talking to later. All that left was Ms. Winters and Romulus.
"I'm sorry..." he whimpered.
"I got kidnapped, Mr. Romulus," she responded.
"That wasn't my fault!" he murmured.
Romulus walked away with a scowl. Then Lana approached me.
"I'm sorry he didn't let you in," she told me.
"I'll be staying in Highgrave for a little longer," Mrs.Winters added.
"You will!?" I exclaimed.
"Just to observe the area," she responded.
I sighed when I heard that. However, she handed me a card.
"My phone number," she smiled.
I said thank you and proceeded to head home.
