Tom Marvolo Riddle was conceived under a love potion. Leaving him unable to love anything or anyone. Well almost anything.

His mother was a pureblood witch and descended of Salazar Slytherin.

His father was from the noble pureblood family, the Riddle's.

Tom's mother gave his father a love potion and as soon as she stopped his father left his mother alone and pregnant.

She gave birth to a boy, Tom Marvolo Riddle. She died only an hour later. The young Riddle grew up with his aunt, who always treated him right, but was obviously only after the gallons she got every year, for taking care of him.

Tom grew up surrounded by magic and house elves who followed his every command, but he couldn't say he liked living there. He didn't hate it either, he just felt mutual about it. Just like he felt mutual about everything else.

He didn't love anything. He didn't love the pet owl they held. Or the snakes that visited him every day. He knew he was the hair to Slytherin so talking to snakes came as a second nature. He felt mutual about the fact that he had more money than he could ever spend in his life and he did not feel anything for his pathetic aunt, who practically raised him.

Tom's time at Hogwarts was eventful. He was the best student at everything and was made prefect as soon as possible. The young boy never played Quidditch, he thought it as a waste of time and used the games to get books from the restricted section of the library, as everyone was busy.

Dumbledore, the transfiguration teacher never trusted Tom but as Dippet was the headmaster it didn't matter. Dippit was very fond of Tom and used him as a role model in many situations. But just like his father, Tom knew how to play people. He manipulated teacher to get information about the dark arts and students so they would join his little group.

There Tom was a leader, and his followers did whatever he asked. Later on, he even opened the chamber of secrets and got a girl killed. But Tom made sure that not he would be the one the fingers would be pointing to. He made sure Rubeus Hagrid, a fellow student, received some weird creature and of course the idiot took it in.

As soon as it had grown a little Tom accused it of being the one responsible for scaring and killing the students.

As this was an honourable thing, ultimately saving the school, he received a medal which was displayed at Hogwarts. But none of this mattered to Tom. He wanted it all. He wanted the power and to live forever. Immortality.

Tom grew up when Grindelwald was terrorizing the wizarding world and many followers were left after he was defeated. Tom didn't really want to do bad, it just that sometimes there was collateral damage. He later on formed a group, the Death eaters. These were wizards and witches who followed his command and were there to make sure, something like Grindelwald wouldn't happen again.

They often used dark magic but in the end they only hurt the ones responsible and soon many people knew of death eaters and also their trademark, the serpent crawling out of the skeleton head. They were seen as a sort of protection group and the Ministry of Magic were grateful, they existed.

Tom Riddle was working in a high position in the Ministry himself. Many times, he was offered the position if Minister of Magic, but he always denied. His group of death eaters was more important to him. Now...who paid attention at the start knows it said that Tom couldn't love anything.

That was partly true. He couldn't love any women or man. No, his relatives or the sun. But he could love his very own blood. Not his parents, no he despised them, even if he inherited both the Riddle and the Slytherin fortune, no he could love his blood.

That meant, if he were to have a child, he would be able to love this child. He would love it more than anything in the world. As all the love a person had. May it be the love to people, thing or even snow, was directed to his own blood. There weren't many people who were conceived under a love potion and the ones that were, often didn't know about this little detail, so when Tom found out it was quite by chance.

Although Tom never loved anyone, women still threw themselves as his feet and he sometimes took on their offers. After all, he was still just a man and they had needs. So, Tom had a few play toys, nothing serious. He didn't hide the fact that it wasn't something to last, but many still hoped he would fall for them.

Just like Athena Vanderloo. She came from a pureblood family and was madly in love with Tom. They spent many nights together and one day, she forgot to use a protection spell the day after and she fell pregnant.

Now Tom wasn't a passionate lover he didn't care about Athena and never really paid much mind to her. But when she told him she was pregnant it was like a switch was flipped in his heart. He suddenly felt like he should protect his child. Only the child. He still did not care about the person carrying it.

So, he offered Athena to move in with him, while she was pregnant. She thought he would take her for his wife and love her. How wrong she was. Tom only loved his child. He would make sure the child was okay, that Athena would follow a strict diet and he talked to the baby every day.

Athena soon notived it wasn't she who Tom loved and thought that things would change as soon as the baby would be born. And they did. As soon as Athena gave birth to a little girl Tom only spent time with her. He bathed, played and fed the child. Not once asking how its mother was.

Athena hated it. She hated her baby that had taken away the man she loved. She even refused to feed her child, but Tom just made a potion to mix with milk that would be like drinking mother milk. Athena didn't want her child anymore. So, one night she snuck into its room and gently turned the sleeping baby onto her tummy. As she was now lying on her chest, she was bound to suffocate, due to her lack of being able to get enough oxygen.

Athena smiled when she heard the pants of her daughter, but not a second later, Nagini slithered into the room and turned the baby around with her tail while hissing at Athena. Nagini was Curare's protector and her master told her to keep her safe.

Athena tried to hit Curare with a spell but Nagini just wouldn't move. Her body was wrapped around the tiny baby body and she hissed loudly. Finally Curare woke up and started screaming. Her chest hurt and she wasn't with her father who was the only one besides Nagini whom she saw as her parent.

Tom came in worried as soon as he heard his daughter cries and saw the scene in front of him. Athena started saying how Nagini was trying to kill her daughter and that she only tried to save Curare, but Tom didn't believe her.

As soon as it was clear that Tom wouldn't choose Athena side, she tried to hit Curare with a curse, which he managed to block. Not even a second later he threw her out. Literally. He hacked her through the window and told her never to return. She screamed at him and said she didn't even want the child and he could have it.

That was the last time Tom saw Athena. Without wasting too much time he moved to the Riddle mansion, which as more grand and also safer. Never ever would he let anyone hurt his daughter. Never. She was hi everything.

If you saw him with her you would almost think he was obsessed, but this child was the only thing he would ever be able to love. And all the love he would have had was transferred on her.

She was his everything.
