Herbs

Merry Christmas everyone!!

I'm a little surprised i didn't write about herbs sooner, as it's probably one of my favorite tools to use

Herbs are used in a variety of spells. Herbs have natural vibrations and witches uses those natural vibrations to enhance their spells. Some witches grow their own herbs, while others cut  open tea bags for herbs to use. 

This is an incomplete list of herbs, i will only put herbs that i think are most likely for you to already have. If there is a herb that you want to know the correspondences to, just google "(herb's name) metaphysical properties"

Bay Leaves

Bay leaves are probably one of the most useful herbs in existence, because you can use them to manifest anything. They are also known as bay laurels or just laurels and are most well known for the myth where Apollo falls in love with a river nymph named Daphne. Daphne was adamant that she would remain a virgin forever, but her father desperately wanted a son-in-law and grandchildren. Apollo was struck by Eros' arrow and chased Daphne, not following her wish to remain a virgin. Apollo chased her and eventually Daphne collapsed from exhaustion. So Gaia was nice and the Earth swallowed her up and proclaimed that if the river had any power Daphne's would rather her be changed than allow her to be taken as an unwilling bride. Daphne turned into Bay Laurel and Apollo proclaimed his love for her would never die. So laurels became one of his symbols

Cinnamon

I love cinnamon. I love to add it to my teas for a little extra good luck

Magical Uses: Abundance, health, love, lust, prosperity, attraction (physical objects, wealth, and romance)

Lavender

Love it or hate it, lavender is a very useful herb to have.

Magical Uses: Sleep, anti-anxiety, protection, purification, centering, divination

Nutmeg

It's the holiday season and nutmeg is used a lot in a lot of holiday foods and drinks

Element: Fire

Day: Thursday

Magical Uses:  Money, luck (please specify good luck when using this in a spell because you might accidentally end up with bad luck instead), fidelity

Planet: Jupiter

Astrological Sign: Sagittarius

Peppermint

Peppermint is probably my favorite herb to use. I chew peppermint gum when doing divination because it helps me heighten my intuition (plus it helps with my oral fixation) and smelling helps to relieve anxiety.

Magical Uses: Psychic development, purification, release, good luck, intuition, mental clarity

Astrological Sign: Gemini

Rosemary

This herb can replace any herb in a spell. This is an all purpose herb

Element: Fire

Magical Uses: Purification, mental clarity, confidence, good luck

Planet: Sun

Astrological Sign: Leo

I could add so many more herbs, but i'm too lazy
