I walked out Sweet Pea and Fang's trailer and headed to the Pembrooke. I knocked on the door.Elijah opened the door.
"Eli, hey." I said. He hi-fived me.
"Hi AJ." Eli said.
"AJ, come in. I've just made breakfast." Hermione said smiling at me as Veronica came into view.
"Uh." I said. Hermione looked between Veronica and I.
"Just come in AJ." Veronica grabbed my wrist dragging me in.
"Dude, my wrist." I said.
"I wouldn't of done it if you weren't so stubborn." Veronica said.
"This place is way too quiet for my sister to be here." I said. Alana came out of the corridor.
"Is Dad home yet?" Alana asked.
"Yep." I said.
"So what's your dad do?" Eli asked.
"I don't know. I don't pay attention. Probably something boring." Alana said. Eli looked at me.
"Our dad is a bartender." I said.
"Breakfast." Hermione said coming out of the kitchen with plates. Veronica, Eli and Alana sat down. "Anna sit down."
"I ate before I left." I said. Hermione and Veronica raised their eyebrows at me. Veronica pulled me in the seat next to her. My phone went off. I looked at it to see a text from my mom.
I've got a job for you. Tonight. 6 45pm warehouse greendale
I shoved my phone in my pocket.
"So you've got a job?" Veronica asked.
"No. I just pick up odd jobs where I can. Pop's, Mr Andrews construction, a garage, the bar." I said. Hermione looked at me.
"Fred's?" Hermione asked.
"Uh. Yeah. He has me do IT work for him every once in a while." I said.
"Is Dad working tonight?" Alana asked. I shook my head.
"AJ, do you play football?" Elijah asked.
"I sometimes play with my friends but my school doesn't have a football team." I said.
"So where did you stay last night?" Veronica asked me.
"My friends. We all hung out after I finished work." I said.
"Can I see Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea tonight?" Alana asked.
