It has been about a week since the first task. I was sitting with Cho during breakfast before classes started. Cho and I have recently got pretty close.

I saw Cedric and his friends in the corner of my eye laughing.

"Emery, did you hear what I said?" Cho asked.

"What? Sorry," I said.

"You were staring at Cedric weren't you," she said smirking.

"W-what? No!" I said.

"You like him! It's so obvious!" she said smiling.

"No I don't!" I said.

"Sure," Cho said.

"Ok, maybe I do? I don't know!" I said.

"I knew it!"

"Speaking of staring, Harry's looking at you," I said.

Cho turned around and made direct eye contact with Harry. He spit out his juice because of it.

"Oh god. I'll be right back," I said standing up.

"Wow, Harry very chill," I said when I got to Harry's table.

"You saw that?" he said.

"Obviously. It's so obvious you like her," I said.

"You should ask her on a date," I said nudging him, "Maybe the next time we go to Hogsmeade."

Suddenly, a student younger than us came with a package.

"This is for you Ron," he said.

"Oh, thanks Nigel," Ron replied.

Nigel stood there with a smile on his face just staring at Harry.

"Nigel not now. I'll do it later," Ron said.

"Do what later?" I asked when Nigel walked away.

"I promised him an autograph from Harry," he said.

"Oh ok. Well open the box!" I said.

He opened it and inside were old dress robes.

"A dress? Why would mum send me a dress. Ginny this must be for you," he said.

"I'm not wearing that. It's ghastly!" Ginny said.

"It's not for Ginny! It's for you!" Hermione said to Ron, laughing.

That made everyone at the Gryffindor table, including me, laugh.

"But why would I need dress robes?" Ron asked.

"The Yule ball is a dance held here at Hogwarts once a decade," Snape said.

( I put Snape because since Mcgonagall is the head of the gryffindor house and she told the gryffindors all about the yule ball i assumed that snape did the same for slytherin)

"Now, I need all of you to grab a partner and practice dancing," he said.

***

"So, the yule ball," Elijah said when we were walking in the halls.

"Are you going?" I said.

"Well, only if I go with someone," he said.

"Then why don't you ask someone? This girl in my class has been talking non stop about you," I said.
