"Hoseok, the police can arrive at any time, you sure you wanna continue this?" Hoseok's cousin Doyoun asked Hoseok who was busy spraying to form a big rollercoaster on some rich fellow apartment's white walls.
"Shut up, Doyoun, this is very common for me, I do this almost every week," Hoseok told him without taking his eyes off the image, he was too busy drawing.
This was Hoseok's hobby, spray painting, the only corrupt thing about it was that he liked doing it avidly, vandalizing someone's property. Drawing random figures, objects on someone's house/office whenever they are away. He had been doing this for 3 months or so, and he had never been caught. Call it his luck, or the way he did it so anonymously, never. Today he brought his cousin, Doyoun along. Doyoun was a fan of such things, but the way Hoseok did it so wildly had started to scare him too.
Some people think of vandalizing and spray painting as not such a big crime as if it's normal, but only the intelligent know how wild it is, how some people risk it all for it, and you will go to jail if anyone ever finds it. Destroying private properties is a huge offense. but for some, it's a game
"Hoseok, I am scared, what will happen if anyone finds out?" Doyoun asked him, as he took a peek outside, hoping no one sees them.
"Shut the fuck up and help me color this," Hoseok immediately said, his eyes burning as Doyoun bit his lip before picking up a spray can and started to do it. Hoseok shook his own can but it ran out of paint. He threw it on the road and went to grab another from his bag, but there he spotted a security guard, taking rounds. He turned to see Doyoun, fully absorbed in painting the rollercoaster and then the corner of his eye spotted something else, a CCTV camera. "Fuck," Hoseok cursed under his breath, this was the first time a CCTV was recording it all. Hoseok didn't have a choice, he turned back and whispered in Doyoun's ear
"I will be right back, you keep doing it,"
Doyoun nervously nodded as Hoseok tried to find something. A ladder standing on the corner, guess luck was still on his side. Climbing up the ladder, with all his strength he pulled the CCTV, hoping it would break, and it did. Another crime, breaking such things, he didn't have much time left.
and Hoseok ran, without warning his cousin or anything he ran from the street.
------NEXT MORNING------
That night Doyoun didn't return home, Hoseok's aunt and uncle called that he was missing and all Hoseok said he didn't see him either. That very morning, the police station had called Doyoun's parents who had called Hoseok's family. Hoseok's family had said they will visit them in the police station, and that was what Hoseok was afraid of.
Doyoun will open his mouth and then Hoseok would be questioned too, and Hoseok didn't want that. A controversy surrounding him like that is his least favorite preference. All he need was someone who can cover up for him that he was with her/him yesterday evening. and Hoseok definitely knew who it would be
Somi.
Hoseok had heard that Somi kept everyone's secret, and since she was his best friend, she would keep his too. Hoseok immediately narrated the whole episode to Somi on phone, and Somi listened really carefully.
"If you want me to hide your secret, I have a condition," she told him, her voice stern
Hoseok immediately went all nervous mode, tapping his foot, he asked, "What condition?"
"Teach me how to paint using sprays," she answered, as Hoseok sighed as they both chuckled
"Sure, so deal?" Hoseok asked her, confirming his answer
"Deal," she confirmed, her voice firm
--------LATER THAT DAY---------
It happened the way Hoseok expected it, they went to the police station, and there Doyoun had confessed that it was not him who planned that, rather it was Hoseok who pushed him to do it. The police asked Hoseok but Hoseok had an ally. Somi was called to the police station as proof as Somi told them as she showed a picture, "Hoseok and I were in a cafe together yesterday evening, I even have a picture of us yesterday,"
Hoseok smiled to himself, when you ask Somi to do something, she does it with the full brain. Somi was an expert at photoshopping, she surely photoshopped a picture, her voice was so usual and calm that no one can tell she was lying, her eyes genuine and honest. If Jennie and Rose are the best liar, then Somi isn't far too.
The police fully believed Somi and so did Hoseok, and it happened, Doyoun had to suffer while Hoseok was safe.
As Hoseok and Somi walked out together, she looked at him as he did too
"Your secret is safe with me," Somi patted his back as he hugged her, "I trust you,"
---------- PRESENT TIME -------------
Sunday evenings, a warm cup of hot chocolate, the internet, and music. That's what perfection is for Hoseok. He was just going through Pinterest, finding some good pictures for his phone wallpaper. It was really normal of him to change his phone wallpaper every 3 days, from funky to aesthetic, his phone gallery is filled, and then he found a picture, which was beautiful but made him go on mute, all shocked and scared
It was a portrayal of a rollercoaster on a wall, designed with help of spray paints. That brought back flashbacks. Horrible ones.
and then arrived the message which made him close his eyes and curse
