I was about to get into my car when a familiar voice called my name. Well, my nickname which I didn't like in the beginning. Things were different now.

"Demi," Levi called out. I craned my neck and noticed he was approaching me.

Biting my lip, I got into the car and hastily closed the door. I turned the ignition and was about to drive away when he knocked on the window. No words could explain the nervousness that was consuming me. The window was rolled down by me, just a little.

"You've been avoiding me," he said with a sigh. It was a statement. The look in his eyes was unreadable, which didn't help because my hands were getting clammy. I rubbed my clammy palms on my pants and stared at him, finding it extremely difficult to speak.

My heart was beating crazily and my thoughts were all jumbled up. I found myself hitting the gas and driving away without replying to him. I looked at the rearview mirror and saw him standing in the same place with shock in his eyes.

"What just happened?" a voice said.

A little scream almost escaped my lips but then I remembered Naomi was with me.

"Thank you for choosing Heidi's," I smiled at the customer as I handed him the box of pastries. He nodded and walked out of the shop. My attention instantly went to Naomi who was standing at the counter, pretending to be a customer. "I saw you talking to Gabriella this morning. What was that all about?"

She stopped staring into nothing and faced me. "She saw me standing by myself and thought it would be nice to greet me since we've met before. She asked me about my dress and that was it," Naomi waved it off. For a moment there, I thought they had been speaking about me.

"You looked really confused, you know?" I let out as I rested my elbow on the counter and my chin in my palm.

"Wait a minute, you saw us but didn't say anything?"

"Sorry. I have my reasons." I wanted to avoid his group at any cost. It was pure bad luck when Jesper caught me today.

"I saw what happened in the school's parking lot. You're scared to get your feelings hurt, aren't you?"

I didn't know if that was the case. It was all confusing to me. "I don't know. It's confusing, Naomi."

"I don't know what the problem is but I think you guys should talk. He seemed like he wanted to talk to you earlier," she said as she took out another cupcake from the box of cupcakes she just bought. The red velvet ones with a passionfruit buttercream frosting were the best, according to her.

"He's been trying to talk to me for days now, but I can't face him," I confessed.

She almost choked on her cupcake. "Levi Hansen has been trying to talk to you for days and you say you couldn't face him? Girl, it's like saying you can't face EXO's Baekhyun when he tries to talk to you," she said and licked the frosting from the corner of her lips.

She was a messy eater when it came to cupcakes. Her words, not mine.

"Who's EXO's Baekhyun?" I tilted my head as the question left my lips. It was a strange name. She gasped and began coughing before stopping three seconds later.

"I'm not even gonna try to explain who they are. Just know Baekhyun is my future husband in my mind. The thing I'm trying to say is that you should hear him out," she spoke and her eyes brightened up. "What happened on Friday, exactly?"

I hesitated for a bit. "He took me to his house to celebrate my birthday. Nothing special," I shrugged.

"Did you got to his room to steal his pillow?" She looked crazy, I swear. I looked at her like she had four heads.
