"Did you get those files I asked for?" I don't look up from my computer as Marco enters and sets some mantilla folders down on my desk.

"Yea, you never explained why you wanted those." He sits down in one of the armchairs and crosses his arms.

"The only person I really heard about her cancer from was my father. I just wanted to see what was going on. That's all. Sometimes I don't think I've been told everything."

I pick them up, flipping through. At the top the cause of death says cancer. At first glance nothing looks out of the ordinary and none of the doctor's notes are off. Strange.

"Anyway, game night still on?" I say, finally looking up at him with a smile.

"Of course, if you can get yourself out of this office!"

I laugh and nod. "Enough work for today. I know when to stop! Just let me clean up and I'll be out."

He leaves and I turn back to the files. There's nothing wrong with these. She died form cancer, plain and simple. Maybe if that caller wanted me to find something, they could have been more specific. Or he was just trying to throw me off the scent. Who can you really trust? Anyway, I need to focus on getting Vincent out.
