jayda didn't go the the diner the next morning. she didn't set her alarm, she wouldn't have heard it anyways. she woke up a little late to texts from kendra, but still didn't get up and ready.

she laid in bed for a while, just thinking about what happened the day before. after slowly getting up, the girl took a shower, and got dressed in a large hoodie and spandex.

jonah arrived at the diner a little late, and rushed in. he didn't see jayda, but figured she was just in the back. he sat back as another waitress took his order and poured his coffee.

"where's jayda?" the boy asked kendra as she came and wiped a table near him.

"i don't know." kendra frowned and sat across the booth from him. "she hasn't been answering my texts and she didn't show up this morning."

"oh." jonah frowned as well, disappointed that he couldn't see the girl today.

"i would go over and see if she's okay, but i have to stay here and work..." kendra trailed off, lightly biting her lip. she was obviously hinting for jonah to go over there and check on her.

"i could!" jonah eagerly volunteered, awaiting her answer. kendra's mouth turned up in a large smile.

"really?"

"yeah!" the boy nodded eagerly. maybe he was too excited and forward, but he did indeed really like jayda.

"okay!" kendra smiled. "here's her address." she grabbed a pen from her apron and wrote it on the paper napkin in front of her.

"thanks!" jonah smiled even bigger and jumped up to leave.

"wait, what about your breakfast?" the red head frowned and then arose too. jonah's mouth formed the shape of an 'o', and he sat back down.

"oh wait! could i get it to go?" he stood again. kendra laughed and went to the kitchen and prepared his order.

soon she took it out to jonah and he left, going to the address written on the napkin. he may have sped a little and skipped a few stop signs, but it didn't matter. his soul was flying.

he quickly arrived at jayda's apartment building. jonah inhaled his breakfast and ran inside. he pressed all the buttons to be buzzed in, and of course, someone let him in. it worked every time.

he entered the inside door, and ran up the stairs to the second floor. he slowed his pace and walked slowly down the hall, so he wouldn't seem out of breath. the boy knocked on the door lightly, just a few taps.

jonah heard timber barking inside, and he was doing circles in front of jayda. that was his signal that someone was at the door. jayda trudged to the front of her apartment, hoping it was just one of her neighbors delivering a package.

her eyes grew to about twice their normal size as she looked through the peep hole. she quickly fixed her hair and took a deep breath and then opened the door with a smile. one was already plastered on jonah's face.

"i must be lost, because you are an angel from heaven."
