Draco couldn't help but pathetically fall for you.

You were in his house, had confidence and was no doubt absolutely stunning. You and Draco weren't that close, but you had your moments. Once, you were struggling to tie your slytherin tie, so Draco came to help. He loved that memory and couldn't stop thinking about how embarrassed you looked, he found it incredibly cute. Although Draco was usually confident, he couldn't seem to be around you. He always thought he wasn't good enough for you. Why would you chose him when you could have anyone?

"Draco!" Crabbe called from the end of the corridor, trying to catch up. "Where ya headed mate?"

"Black lake."

"Can i come? Heard it's peaceful to study there."

"No."

Crabbe stepped back, and walked away. Draco shook his head, he didn't want to be mean but he wanted to be alone. So, he held his leather notebook in his hand, and walked to the black lake. It wasn't to do homework, he wanted to write his poetry. Draco was a poet, and he didn't mind it. It was the only time he could truly express his feelings.

He sat under a tree, and opened his notebook. Draco took a deep breath, absorbing the nature around him. "Draco?" He heard a girl ask in front of him. Draco lowered his book and saw y/n. "O-oh hey." He shut it quickly. "What are you doing?" You smiled at him.

"Just writing a few things." Draco anxiously played with his rings as he answered.

"Oh, cool." You looked around, "Did you finish the potions homework?" You sat down at the corner of Draco's blanket.

"Yeah-yeah, I did." He let go of his notebook and smirked. "Can you help me then? I heard your really good at it." You took out your potions homework and showed him where you needed help.

"Jesus, I don't know how you understand all of this." You rubbed your temples as he laughed. "I don't know, I just find it interesting." You smiled as well, making Draco stare in awe. He's never felt like this before, but he liked it. "What else do you find interesting?" You tried to carry on a conversation, frankly, you fancied Draco no doubt.

You watched as his face light up when he talked about things he liked, it was adorable. You guys ended up laying beside each other, just talking about nothing looking up at the stars. "Snape always has a 'turn to page 394...' voice." Draco mocked Snape. "Wait why as that impression so good!" You laughed until your lungs hurt. He turned to watch you laugh, making him laugh even more. Your laugh sounded like music to his ears, filling him with butterflies.

"I like this." You calmed down from laughing, looking over at him as-well.

"Like what?" He smiled.

"Hanging out, it feels natural."

He chuckled a little. "Yeah... there's no one like you y/n." Draco looked away smiling.

You blushed while grinning, "I think it's curfew." He got up and extended his arm, which you took. "Let's go back."

You guys still talked the whole way back to the slytherin common room, laughing and joking around. It felt like you've known each other for years. "Goodnight y/n." Draco patted the top of your head, "See you tomorrow." You both split ways and went to your dormitories.

You dropped your bag on the ground, then you noticed a black leather notebook. Draco's black leather notebook. The book taunted you to open it, it's gold letters on the front dancing under the moonlight. You knew it was bad, but maybe it was just a charms notebook. You touched the leather cover, tracing your finger on the letters that spelt "NOTEBOOK".

Surprisingly, there was poetry, no charms homework. It felt personal, but you couldn't stop reading. You came across one entry:

She is

i used to believe
that every feeling of anxiety
was what you'd call
butterflies

until i met her
and i felt them truly
for the first time
it was refreshing
to feel these butterflies
swarming in my stomach

the wrinkles in her skin
that only appear
when she laughs
and the way her eyes
are barely visible
when she smiles

it's embarrassing
to fall so hard
so quickly
but she is
just so beautiful
she is

You shut the book after finishing. Could this be about me? Does the Draco Malfoy like me? It could be about someone else, right? You lay up staring at the ceiling, thinking.

You woke up to the sun shining through your window. You turned over to see the notebook sitting on your nightstand. A wave of guilt washed through you as you remembered what you read. You shoved the book back into your bag and got ready for class.

Draco was waiting in the common room for you. "Good morning Draco." You walked up to him, "Good morning." He smiled. "Oh! Here, I think I accidentally took it with my potions book." You swung your bag over your shoulder and took out his notebook. You watched as his face grew a bright right.

"O-oh. You didn't read it, did you?" He asked shoving the book under his arm.

"Um yeah, I might've..." You thought it was better to tell the truth rather then lie to him.

He simply nodded as his jaw clenched. There was a very awkward silence.

"Uh- I like your poetry." You awkwardly said, rubbing your arm.

"Thanks."

His words were short and quick. You could easily tell Draco was upset. "Let's go." He said and grabbed his bag. You nodded and you guys both left. The walk to the classroom was silent.

"I'm sorry." You turned to look at him, "I shouldn't have read that." You looked at the ground. Draco grabbed your hand, "Let's skip class." he suggested. "Uh, yeah. Sure." You followed behind him as he led you to the black lake.

You guys went to the same tree, backed you up onto the tree. "Why'd you read my personal shit, y/n?" He pinned you between his arms. "Well, because-cause I-" You tried to speak, but your tongue left like it was in knots. "Fucking hell y/n. What poem did you read?"

"The first one." You whimpered out.

"Fuck." He sighed and backed away, "You weren't supposed to see that."

You stared at him blankly, "Who's it about?"

"Jesus, it's about you, y/n." He spat out.

Your eyes finally met his, and he sighed. "I'm sorry. I just- I don't like it when people go through my stuff." he took a deep breath. "I shouldn't have gone through it, Draco." you rubbed his arm, "I'm the one who's sorry."

"I can't get mad at you y/n. You're my home and comfort, you make me feel safe. You're my first and last thought of the day." He looked at you, "I-I don't know why i'm rambling, but i guess since you already know, doesn't matter right? Just pretend you didn't read it." He chuckled and looked back at the lake.

"I'm not gonna forget it Draco, cause I feel the same." You smiled at him, making eye contact. He then leaned in and grabbed the side of your face, placing a tender kiss on your lips.
