Loyal you call me, like a dog you said
Yet I lie wide open, dissected instead
The dog who you cannot pet
The dog you wish that you hadn't adopted yet
Kind and loving and always there
I sit like a fool waiting for a share
You give me a pat then walk away
Foolishly I wait, sitting all day
It really didn't take much to earn my heart
You know this now and knew it from the start
So lead on master, throw me a stick
Parade me around show off my tricks
My time on earth will be short, it's true
Shorter still maybe now that I met you
Lost in a trance like dream
Maybe you're not all that you seem?
