Whisps of smoke fill the air

I try to convey but ultimately fail
My love for you lies in its cage
My heart an inferno on it will rage

Maybe from a poem you can glean
It is from you that I am  inspired
To be close to you is to what I aspire

Ask me and on my sword I will fall
Across broken glass I would crawl
I'd pull a blade and slit my wrists
If you just tell me it's what you insist

I know that I can never be more
Than an evaporating tear on the floor
Like a shadow entering the shade
The memory of me will surely fade

Those moments when our lips met
You still my heart you kindle my soul
My heart is breaking awaiting the cull

I wonder why I ever had the nerve
To think that your love I deserved
As I write tears moisten my cheek
The outside is strong the inside meek

You shine so brightly and from so far
I see your resemblance in the stars
I stare away and you offer a kiss
I'm aware of the opportunity missed

Selfishly with you I bargain and plead
