I THINK HE KNOWS THAT I'M LYING. He's always with me and is suspecting something.
For the last few days, I hadn't had the chance to go and use the phone that Vito gave me. I have this urge to call the number that is on there and make sure it's true to what Vito told me.
If what Vito said was right, then that, means that I can't trust Alec and his family. But on the other hand, Alec never gave me a reason to not trust him.
I'm conflicted with myself at this point.
''Do you have everything?'' Alec came into the room while grabbing this bag. I nodded and walked right passed him to get out to the car where all the guys were standing.
Alec made some calls where he had a few friends who told him that we can stay with them. Alec also organized some people, he can trust, to stay around the house and keep it safe. He made sure to ask me if I was okay with it and I told him yes even though I wasn't.
This time that I'm currently in showed me I can't trust anyone not even the closest people around me.
Everyone wants to harm me.
I walked towards the car and got in, ignoring the guys who were already deep in their conversations. I feel very anxious today. It's the first day since we went out since that incident in the woods.
I hate the feeling of being watched or the fact that I have to look over my shoulders dozens of times to make sure no one is after me.
Sighing, I grabbed the book that I took from Alec's office. I read the whole thing and learned a few new things about the Mafia.
But the number one rule that is repeated many times is 'Maintain Omertà'.
Even though I have this urge to talk to somebody about this, I can't. It goes against the rules and if I learned something then it's to follow rules.
Otherwise, you'll die.
A loud slam of the car door brought me back to reality. Turning my head, I saw Alec right at the driver's side, getting ready to drive. I didn't dare to talk to him because I was scared that I would say something that would make him think that I'm lying.
I have been very cautious about what I would say to him or the boys. I know every word that comes out of my mouth would change a lot. I just need to keep my feet still and wait for the perfect moment.
''Did you finish it?'' looking down at the book, I nodded as I felt his eyes on me. ''Keep it. It can help you a lot,'' he started the car which made the boys get into the car.
''Are you sure the house is protected? What if your Dad-'' before Landon could finish his sentence, Alec stopped him by speaking. ''Dante won't do anything. I made sure of that,''
