The smell of fear is beautiful....

The boy walked through the base silently, avoiding contact with others as he slipped through the shadows to his room. He avoided contact with the others, merely wanting to prepare for the mission and go.

For he was restless. There would be fighting ahead.

And he wanted it.

He needed it.

And he would have it.

Shou entered the dark room, eyes flitting around slightly in search of something that he alone knows, his gaze lingering on something white in the corner for a few moments before his smile widened marginally. He walked through the darkness towards a pile in the corner of his room, picking up the bag and putting it on, before turning around. The white snake in the corner watched, only to start as a knife embeded itself in its head, instantly killing it as the boy smiled, unseen to the now dead creature. He slipped on some more of his stolen weaponry before venturing over to the creature and removing his knife and transferring it into the holder on his leg. He then laughed silently, poking the dead creature mockingly as he spoke to no-one in particular, his voice taunting:

"Bad snake-san."

Orochimaru hissed slightly, irritation filling him as the snake spy he had placed in the boys room suddenly cut off contact, which meant that it was dead, earning a slight raised eyebrow from his partner.

How had he found it so quickly?

He moved through the hall, snakelike eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out a way to obsereve the boy. He would be a good vessel. Or an experiment. Either way, he wanted the boy. He licked his lips in arousal at the idea of having a powerful young body in his collection. His eyes snapped up at the sound of nearly inaudible footsteps approaching, a sinister smirk making it's way onto his face at the sight of his target approaching, a smile that hid something.... odd beneath it.

Speak of the devil and it shall appear, indeed. His smile grew wider as the boy drew closer and closer, practically brushing by the snake-like male with a closed eye smile and soft spoken words that he nearly missed. He paused mid step, eyes widening marginally at the words:

"It's not nice to spy, snake-san."

The boy walked away, ignoring the shock he had caused the male as he radiated a twisted innocene. Orochimaru's shock soon gave way to desire as his smile grew wider and wider until it nearly split his face in two as he chuckled slightly, his eye's lightening up with excitement as he came to a conclusion, his tongue licking his lips in the provocation of the power of the boy.

The boy was perfect.

He wanted him.

He wanted that boy. And he would make him his.

Shou continued through the base, ignoring the ill intent leeking from the man with features reminiscent of a snake as he headed towards the location of the male like a shark and the male who bore the mark of that place. His eyes hardened with dislike at the thought of it, before he shook himself off, hand subconsciously touching the bottle he kept in the pouch on his leg as he drew closer to the entrance, where the dark haired male was waiting, the Kisame person nowhere in sight. He purposely made his footsteps louder as he approached, causing the males eyes to glance at him, emotions hidden beneath a mask as cold onyx eyes met purple rings. The two stared at each other, one expressionless, one smiling as a long time passed before one of them spoke:

"Kisame?"

Silence followed the question as the raven haired man mused over it for a few moments, before he turned away his voice cold as he replied:

"He is still preparing."

The boy hummed at this, rocking back onto the heels of his feet as he stood nearby, waiting for the third member of their mission to arrive. His eyes were focused on the rock, staring through Itachi as time passed slowly, very slowly for the one subject to this unblinking stare. He was uncomfortable, for the boy didn't move, didn't blink, didn't make a sound- he just stared. And his stare held hidden malice that he couldn't place.

It was unnerving.

Finally, after what felt like hours, the sound of footsteps alerted them to anothers approach moments before Kisame came to a halt beside them, teeth bared in a grin as he looked at the two younger boys standing there:

"Shall we go?"

The two nodded, whilst Kisame made the handsigns that caused the boulder to move out of the way, allowing them to exit the base, into the world above them. They began to move, silently and quickly through the trees, Shou trailing ever so slightly behind as his eyes glinted with delight.

For he was finally going to see it.

.....but it can't compare to the smell of death.
