without further ado, Chapter 14; girl code

"I'm gonna be late and Danny is gonna be knocking at the door." I mutter to myself.

I jump out of bed and change into sweatpants and a t shirt. I hear a knock at the door, must be Danny.

"Hey Danny!" I say.

"Hey, Vic. Ready to ride bikes?

"I would love to but I can't. I have a ride today." I say.

"Oh it's okay. With who?" He asks.

"Johnny. You can come if you want?" I ask softly.

"Sure!" He says.

"Is it okay if Danny gets a ride with us?" I ask Johnny as he pulls up just in time. He's always on time.

"Fine." He says, but you can tell he's mad.

We get in Johnny's car and head to school.

"Don't get your little hands on my car." Johnny sneers.

"Sorry." Danny says.

Johnny trails his hand up my thighs, shooting butterflies up my stomach.

"Would you guys stop it already?" Danny says, acting to be disgusted.

"You wish my hands were yours." Johnny says.

"Shut it." Danny says.

We get to school and say our goodbyes.

"Hey V!" Tommy yells out.

"Hey Tommy!" I say.

"You look so pretty today." He says.

I look down at my sweats. "Not really but thank you." I say, laughing a little.

"Hey Ali." I say softly.

"Hey." She says with a bit of annoyance in her voice but shyly.

"I'm sorry I haven't got the chance to talk to you much." I apologize.

"It's fine. How's Johnny?" She asks.

"He's good." I say.

"You guys are just friends?" She asks.

"Yeah." I say quickly, looking away.

"If you really want to just date him, You've already broken girl code anyway." She says.

"I don't like him, he's just a friend." I say.

"Okay." She says.

"Hey, V." Johnny says as he hugs me from behind.

"Hello, Lawrence."

"So I was wondering, would you like to go on a date tonight?" He asks.

"Yes. I would love to."

"Good. We're gonna go to the Country club for dinner." He says.

"I don't know.." I say hesitantly.

"Why?" He asks.

"It's a country club, Johnny. Everyone is rich there and I don't think I would fit in." I say softly.

"You'll do great. If they say anything I'll kick their ass." He says.

"I know you will." I say.

I have to dress kinda fancy. I change into a light pink dress and curl my hair for the occasion. I'm just nervous people will say something. They're snobby over there. On that side of town.
