[EXT. ROOFTOP - 2:57 AM]

[It's dark and damp. The rooftop provides a perfect view of the city and the people in it. The atmosphere grows cold as a sharp piece of ice flies through the air and pierces someone's heart. HARRY smirks to himself]

HARRY: (to himself, impressed) "Fine work there."

[HARRY digs through the duffel bag sitting at his feet. He pulls his phone out. The screen lights up, and a photo stares back at him; it's him and his partner. HARRY gasps at the time]

HARRY: (in a panicked whisper) "3 AM, 3 AM, I'm dead. Dead. He's going to kill me."

[The duffel bag gets slung over HARRY's shoulder, and he sends a swirl of ice in front of him. It freezes, and he sets a foot onto it. The next swirl is a bit bigger and carries a cool draft through the air. HARRY keeps going until he's looking down on the dead man's body]

HARRY: (halfheartedly) "F-R-O-S-T-B-I-T-E."

[The ice from his fingers spells the name out above the body. HARRY grins at his mark. He turns back towards his frozen path and continues home, ignoring the sirens in the distance]

[INT. BEDROOM - 3:42 AM]

[The room, dimly lit by the lamp beside the bed, is silent. LOUIS is asleep with his arms wrapped tightly around HARRY's pillow. HARRY steps towards their closet, his suit folded neatly in his arms. He places it on a hanger and looks fondly at LOUIS]

LOUIS: (with sleep laced through his voice) "Haz? What time is it?"

HARRY: (pulling his pillow out of LOUIS' arms) "Shhh, go back to sleep."

LOUIS: (confused) "It can't be midnight. I was still waiting at midnight."

HARRY: (tucking himself into LOUIS' chest, turning the lamp off) "Sorry, it's almost 4."

LOUIS: (tense) "What?"

HARRY: (quietly) "I lost track of time..."

[LOUIS sighs and combs his fingers through HARRY's hair. HARRY shuts his eyes at the contact. His body relaxes]

LOUIS: (sternly, but with concern) "I worry about you." (softly) "I'm afraid that one day you won't come back."

[HARRY hears LOUIS sharply inhale. He pulls LOUIS' arms back around him and laces their fingers]

HARRY: (assuredly) "You won't lose me."

LOUIS: (with watery eyes) "We don't know that. You don't know that."

HARRY: "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, Lou."

[LOUIS nods to himself before closing his eyes and falling asleep. HARRY follows shortly after, fresh tears lingering on his shoulder]

[EXT. ROOFTOP-ONE YEAR LATER - 1:28 AM]

[HARRY lays sprawled out on the dirt. His colleague, NIALL, runs up beside him. NIALL takes note of the situation]

NIALL: (calm, but with panic in his eyes) "Can you move? We have to get you out."

HARRY: (with a smile) "Fire and ice don't mix." (gesturing at his heart; there's a flaming arrow in it) "Would you mind?"

[NIALL starts to reach for the arrow before HARRY stops him]

HARRY: (with difficulty) "Hang. On."

[HARRY struggles as he produces a small, icy breeze. He closes his eyes and wills it home. NIALL smiles sadly]

HARRY: (contentedly) "Okay."

[NIALL pulls the arrow and squeezes his eyes shut when HARRY doesn't react]

[INT. BEDROOM - 1:31 AM]

[LOUIS tightens his grip around HARRY's pillow as he sleeps. The lamp glows throughout the room, waiting for HARRY to turn it off. LOUIS shudders as a cold breeze runs through his body]

[INT. LOUIS' DREAM - 1:33 AM]

[It's pitch black. HARRY's voice echoes throughout the space]

HARRY: (gently) "I love you, Louis."

[INT. BEDROOM - 1:34 AM]

LOUIS: (in his sleep) "I love you too."
