Tyler
I flew up in my bed when I hear someone banging at my door. I looked around to see if anyone broke into my room. Fortunately, no one was in here. I groan, burying my face into my palms. Then I hear Brianna scream her life out from outside.
"Tyler! Let me in you lazy girl!"
"Hey! Shut up! People are trying to sleep here!" Alec, my neighbor and other friend, shouts.
I chuckle and got off my bed. Those two always fight. I walk out of my room and towards the front door I went. I opened it, and saw a really agitated Brianna glaring at me, her arms crossed and a brow arched up. I stretched my back and arms out.
"Well good morning, sweet Brianna." I smile. I lean forward and saw Alec from his porch, burning his eyes on Brianna. I wave at him, "It's alright, Alec. You don't need to call the cops."
Alec was a well built man. Well, almost everyone in San Diego is fit. Everyone always seemed to be jogging or going to the gym or not even working out. Just eating on a very healthy diet. Which I do. Even though I did have pie in my fridge...
Alec shoves his hands into his pockets of his basketball shorts and pumped his chest. He took a few seconds looking at Brianna, and she flipped him off. I see his lips twitched and he looks at me.
"Your friend's lovely, Tyler." he jokes, opening his door and walking into his apartment.
"She's your friend too, Alec!" I say.
I laugh as Brianna shoved me into my apartment. I hold my stomach and close the door. Then I shot her a glare.
"What the hell were you thinking?! You could've gotten me kicked out!" I scolded her, throwing my arms in the air.
"Sorry! I just need your help on my computer. I still can't seem to fix it..." she pouted.
I sigh, then I hear my phone ringing in my room. I walked to my room and picked up my phone. It was a call from my mom. I tap on the answer button and put my phone on my cheek.
"Hi, Mom." I say blankly.
Brianna walks into my room and sits on my bed. A pillow fell off the bed, but before it could touch the floor, she catches it. I gave her a threatening look, and she mouthed a sorry.
"Hi, Tyler. How are you doing, sweetie? It's been awhile since you last checked in with us." she says, and I could tell the worry in her voice.
It was just a week ago...
"Mom, I'm 20. I don't need to tell you how I'm doing on a daily basis." I groan, rolling my head back.
"I-I know, honey. It's just you know how worried I get if you don't call me." she reminds me.
I groan again. I've heard this excuse so many times. For the past two years, she had been telling me that she had made so many ridiculous excuses to check up on me. "I'm currently eating dinner with some of my friends at the moment, but I wanted to see if you're doing fine," or "I just got out of a business meeting, so I'm here in the restroom to check if you're okay," or "Hi Tyler, I'm currently enjoying myself while I get a back massage, but I'm worried if you're not doing okay."
She needs to chill out a bit and let me be myself.
"Mom, I'm fine. Alright?"
There was a pause on the other end, and she spoke again, "Alright. Hey sweetie, I checked your transactions this morning and you bought yourself a computer?"
I whipped my head at Brianna. I tighten my jaw and closed my eyes. I slowly shook my head. You can never trust Brianna with your money. Or with your bank account password. Period.
